Masterblend mixing strategy

First off- no weed growing here. Just fruit trees, avocados, berries, etc. But you guys seem to be most active in discussing hydroponic nutrients so i'm hoping i can get some advice. For background, we have soil that is likely north of 80% sand. Great drainage, horrible nutrient retention. Likely because of this, we have acidic soil. Have done a ton of compost tilling into soil, but its work in progress. Because Ca/K nitrates dont acidify and even slightly alkalize i'm going to start using the masterblend formula. I have a system set up to fertigate using chapin venturi mixers like seen above. At the top is a strainer basket for solubles, where i usually put fert. Here's my question- would i cause lockout if i made the MB/epsom solution and then just added the nitrate directly to that? without making a solution? My idea was to put the MB/epsom into the strainer basket and then sprinkle dry nitrate granules at root line of plants/trees. Trying to avoid having to set up a whole mixing operation to something i already have trouble staying on top of - fertilizing. TIA!

Multiple Mini Interview format

Being interviewed for NucMed school admission and it’s in mini interview format. Is there anything that I should be aware of or do differently vs your typical setting with 1 or 2 interviewers? Coming from a different industry so won’t have a lot of experience in healthcare setting to talk about. But always been highly interested in science and health, family members who worked in imaging (mri, xray, etc). Advice appreciated!!

Choosing a strategy- predicting choppy seas ahead

Have been following Gormans posts and reading about the mechanics of things like hfea, 9 sig, SMA, etc. Not getting too deep, just the overview. I would like to move bulk of investment funds into one soon as I’ve got career changes happening shortly and won’t have the free time to manage things anymore. While it’s no guarantee, the consensus is that we’re moving towards higher rates overall, decreasing liquidity, and possibly some reckoning, or at least less mania, for the ol AI super cycle. I’m guessing things will be choppier, more volatility, fewer sustained trends, etc. in the short to medium. If that thesis were true, which strategy would be best suited to navigate the conditions? And bonus question- which of the various vehicles for your “cash” position rides it best - agg, bil, sgov, gld, etc?

Bought too much compost- had to leave big heaps and mounds all over- red wigglers?

long story short, super sandy soil means we needed some serious soil amending. bought about 3/4 of a yard of compost last fall, removed a bunch of sand, mixed in probably half a yard, and still had about a 1/4 yard left. so had to pile it up, with mounds all through planter beds. anywhere from 5-6" up to 10" in some places. so im wondering if you folks think it would be worthwhile to get some red wigglers and let them go to town on the heaps and mounds. since technically this is finished compost i wasnt sure if that was still a good environment for the worms. im not interested in starting up a system or making complicated nurseries or anything like that. but if i they'll help break all that (finished) compost down then i'll hit up a bait shop and spread them all around now that its starting to get warm. what do you folks think, is that still beneficial? TIA

Mass loaded vinyl for a stairwell adjacent to bedroom?

Staircase and bedroom share some wall framing. Im wondering if it would be worthwhile to add mlv to the wall before stairs get framed. Mainly hoping to stop the sound of heavy steps on the treads as the kids run up and down. Will insulate the 2x6 wall as well. Roughly 8 x 16 area so not a ton of material hopefully. Thoughts?

Anybody know what is happening here? I sprayed copper over winter, but only once as it kept its leaves and never fully dropped. Warm winter in CA. First quince so not familiar with what I’m seeing here. Thx

carrying a C+ from chemistry class long long ago. i have some time before application deadline to redo chemistry and was going to do a portage learning class. i noticed there's the basic Chem103 w lab but then also a Biochem 212 w lab. The basic chem is obvious, but wondering if anyone took the Biochem? seems much more relevant to anything medical related, but on the other hand if my goal is to ace the class and replace a C+ with an A then maybe stick to basic chem103? anybody have experience with Biochem from portage? thx

anybody have any preferences here? water districts approved list has Ames, Apollo/Conbraco, ARI, Backflow Direct, Febco, Watts, Wilkins.

i see Watts and Apollo at the big box stores which immediately makes me think lower quality, but i could be wrong. some i've never heard of like ARI, Backflow Direct, Wilkins, etc. this is just for standard residential service with some irrigation. no fire sprinklers. no winter freezes. thanks

long story short, have to replace a window but cannot redo the whole frame. got an amazing offer on a vinyl replacement window, however its white vinyl. windows are forest green. in years past it wasn't worth it to try painting vinyl. now i see paints for plastic pretty regularly. does this actually work? this is a window on basement level, somewhat hidden behind landscaping so not prominent and not going to get intense sun or weather. any products that actually work on vinyl? any particular prep needed? TIA

So…, the obvious answer would be nuts. Any particular kind? Urban area here so no nut trees, no pinecones, etc. But- I’ve heard everything from corn to chocolate to fruit as well, so I’ll try anything to catch these bastards.
