I live in a high rise and Xfinity is the building's preferred provider, whatever that means, so I just went with it. But I'm paying $147/mo for 500 Mbps internet and a basic channel package, of which I only watch WGN evening news. Different from many Xfinity customers, the Internet has been quite reliable but the price is just ridiculous.

I was thinking of getting a cheap digital antenna and putting it on my balcony just to get WGN (is OTA still a thing?) and changing to a cheaper internet provider. I get junk mail from Astound all the time but I have no idea if it works.

Any suggestions?
