An die Kaffeeliebhaber

Hey!

Beginner level coffee roaster - where to buy?

Hey! I am a university student from vienna and i love filter coffee. As coffee is one of my hobbies, i thought I might try roasting my own coffee to my niche hobby.
I am especially interested in light roasts with fruit notes - ethiopian especially.
Do you guys have suggestions on roasters to buy for beginners, especially if they aren‘t costing half a kidney?
Or does someone here sell any old equipment by any chance?
I appreciate any comment that could help :)!

Hope this rabbit hole isn‘t deeper than the coffee grinder one lol

Cheers guys, have a nice one!

Looking for advice on how to handle certain situations

I was out last night with two female friends of mine, one of whom is the girlfriend of my best friend, let’s call her Maria.

In nightlife, it’s obviously normal for attractive women to get approached by men, and that happened several times throughout the night. I didn’t think anything of it. Maria clearly wasn’t interested in this particular guy and made that very clear, so eventually he walked away.

About ten minutes later, he came back again. This time Maria was genuinely uncomfortable, so I told him politely! that he should leave her alone. Without any warning whatsoever, he punched me in the face.

Luckily, nothing happened to me. I have a pretty strong neck and the punch didn’t really do anything, but I was absolutely fucking furious. My first instinct was obviously to knock him out. I had about a hundred different scenarios running through my head, and with the adrenaline going through me, I genuinely felt like I could have seriously hurt him.

Instead, I managed to keep myself composed and restrained him until security arrived and took him away.

While I had him in a hold, he kept saying things like, “If you want to talk normally, we can, but if not, I’m going to fuck your ass.” The adrenaline was absolutely insane. Even after everything was over, I was shaking for several minutes.

I’m generally a very easy going person and I genuinely hate situations like this. I’ve had a few sparring sessions before, but this felt completely different. I still feel pretty uncomfortable thinking about it the next day.

What also confused me was that he seemed to think I was “white knighting” or trying to play some kind of hero. I wasn’t. Dude was saying things like "Good bro, you protected her from me raping her" sarcastically.

Maria is my friend, she was clearly uncomfortable, and I simply told the guy to leave her alone.

At one point I told him that if he genuinely wanted to fight me, we could go around the corner and settle it. He knew I was serious about it and obviously, he didn’t take me up on that and instead kept talking shit while some of his friends were trying to calm him down. His friends were actually very chill, and I could talk normally to them; that I am not looking for fights, and just want to enjoy the night with my friends.

A few minutes later, he actually apologized and said that it wouldn’t be good if we fought because either of us could get hurt. I told him he couldn't do shit to me, because I was still furious and that he shouldn’t act like that in the first place, because not everyone is going to be as restrained as I was. He got his ego hurt again and started acting tough, so I eventually just walked away.

Looking back, I’m honestly not sure how I’m supposed to deal with situations like this. I’ve never really been involved in anything like it before.
It's basically a lose lose situation.

So my question is mainly for people with real actual martial arts experience:

Does this weird feeling of adrenaline and discomfort eventually go away? Is it normal to still feel shaken the next day? Sparring has never felt anything like this to me.

And more importantly, what would you guys recommend doing in a situation like this?

I don’t want to beat the shit out of some guy who clearly has an ego problem and clearly doesn't know what could happen in a street fight and potentially seriously injure him. At the same time, I don’t want to just stand there while someone repeatedly makes a woman I care about uncomfortable.

I don’t want to be pathetic, but I also don’t want to hurt someone when the situation could potentially be resolved without it.

How would experienced martial artists generally handle something like this? At what point do you intervene, and what would you actually do once someone becomes aggressive?

I am just asking because I know, trained people usually know that fighting outside the gym is stupid.

I’d genuinely appreciate some insight from people who have been in similar situations.

Hope you guys have a good one,

Baslius

Height inflation is crazy

Holy shit. I went clubbing yesterday with a good friend of mine to celebrate finishing exam week, and it was a weird experience.

Usually, when I go out alone (or friends that are as tall as I am), I don’t have much trouble getting attention from women. But whatever happened over the last two months is insane. My friend is 6’4”, and my god, the attention he gets is ridiculous. It felt like every 5-foot girl in the club had their eyes on him. I’m 6’1”, so it’s not like I’m short, and we’re both decent-looking, so I never thought appearance would be an issue.

For the first time, though, I genuinely felt invisible. Watching him effortlessly chat with girls while I barely got noticed took a bigger hit to my confidence than I ever expected. I love the guy, and I was genuinely happy to be out celebrating with him, but the contrast was hard to ignore.

Has anyone else been in a situation like this? I love my bro, but that was a really weird experience haha

How do I improve my CV

As the title says: I am qualified for certain jobs - maybe even slightly overqualified. However I only get rejections. How do I improve my resume without lying?
I am already on that big project but would like to get a pay upgrade lol ^^

KinGrinder P2 vs K6

Hello!
After a year of decent cups and a few meh cups with the P2, I decided to upgrade.
What differences can I expect between the P2 and the K6? I just bought the K6 after seeing a lot of great reviews online, and I’m wondering if it’s possible to get more fruity notes, acidity, and overall clarity compared to the P2.

Do you guys have any experiences or anecdotes to share?

Boron side effects?

Hey!

Started taking 10mg boron glycinate yesterday morning as I want to lower SHBG. I was wondering if it could be the reason why my entire body itches since yesterday evening? It all started on my cheeks and now my leg, arm etc. is itching. I can't figure out if it's the mosquitos outside that bite me, or if it's because of the boron.
Can anyone help? D:

Hi!
I’m 26 and currently doing my Masters. For the past 10 or so years I’ve basically stuck to a very minimal style - plain basic tees only, which I actually want to keep as my main look.

That being said, I feel like I could improve the overall fit and styling a bit to better match my features (eye color, build, etc.) and just look more put-together without changing the vibe too much. I’m not into flashy or printed shirts at all. I prefer things clean and simple, maybe just very subtle branding at most. I’d describe my style preference as very plain, nothing loud, no “trying too hard”, but still something where people would think: “this guy knows what he’s doing.”

I’m around 6ft, lean/athletic build, green eyes, pale-ishH skin, and generally on the reserved side, so I’m not looking for anything that feels like peacocking.

Would really appreciate any references, lookbooks, or sites where I could get inspiration for this kind of minimal, clean style.
Appreciate the help guys!

lmfao lately I am reading posts on reddit where everyone is writing about their sexcapades. In those stories the guys are always fucking unprotected after taking girls home from bars/clubs and I was genuienly wondering if this happens alot, or this is just a 14 year old kid writing fantasy?
I mean ok, even if you aren't scared of STDs, how tf aren't you scared of pregnancy? Even with condoms I am so careful, because everything could go wrong if you're drunk or whatever, and then I read about dudes busting their nuts inside a 304 without worrying about anything.
