What were they thinking with the Diamond and Pearl Pokédex?
I appreciate this isn’t exactly a hot take, but the Diamond and Pearl regional dex is easily the worst in any mainline game.
I won’t focus too much on the fire types (Rapidash and Infernape are the only 2), as everyone knows about these.
Other issues include:
- Including all 4 of the Kanto trade evolutions (12 Pokemon)
- 32 of the 151 being water type
- 16 of the 151 being ground type
- 3 bug/flying lines
- Only 2 multi-stage electric lines
- Practically none of the new Sinnoh evolutions of previous Pokemon are available
Was there any need to include Whiscash and Quagsire when Gastrodon existed? Why is Beautifly here when Mothim and Vespiquen exist?
I know this has been spoken about before but I really would love to know the logic behind some of these picks.
I think blindly picking Pokemon at random from the first 4 gens would create a more well-rounded dex.
Luckily, Platinum fixes most of these issues, giving access to Pokemon such as Ralts, Eevee, Duskull etc.
