Setup with our 10 month old

We switched to a California king bed specifically because of cosleeping and it has helped us tremendously. Little guy sleeps in between us with lots of space free of blankets and pillows. The bed is pushed up against the wall so he cannot crawl off. I’m a super light sleeper so I spend a lot of time reading at night.

Plate v. Ate - taco night

My guy will be 10 months next week and he just started really eating a good amount of food. He had ground turkey, avocado, a little bit of cheese, and tortilla strips. Didn’t even try a tomato but they are brand new to him so I’ll keep trying.

Plate v Ate - the first meal my 9.5 month old ate a substantial amount of!

Fried chicken (minus the breading), cottage cheese, and beets. Immediately ate all the chicken which I expected but I was shocked how much of the beets he ate!

8 month sleep regression, ear infection, and teething all wrapped in one!

I had posted a few months ago back when my guy was around 6 months and we were really struggling. I hadn’t done much research on sleep and his pediatrician is really adamant about sleep training (I’m actually switching offices because of this). I was having an awful time, trying so hard to get him to sleep in his crib but he would wake every 15-20 minutes screaming and I would spend half my night rocking him to try and get him to sleep.

After finding this sub and doing lots of reading I decided against sleep training. After a few weeks he worked through the regression and actually has been sleeping a good 3-4 hour stretch in his crib before I bring him into our bed for the rest of the night. I love bed sharing and we all are getting sleep now, and the first chunk of crib sleep allows me to stay up and do whatever I want for a few hours before bed. We have even gotten a few nights where he sleeps in his crib until 4am!

He’s currently going through a sleep regression, ear infection, AND his two top teeth coming in all at once. After reading lots of posts in this sub I have handled this MUCH differently than the last regression and it has been SO much easier. We try the crib every night and the past week it just hasn’t worked. Instead of trying everything possible to get it to work I’ve been laying in bed reading a book or watching Netflix while he gets rest and the comfort he needs. I appreciate the relaxation I get out of it too and of course the cuddles.

I just wanted to share and thank this community for all the helpful info I’ve received!

I recently bought a new home with front flower gardens that the previous owner had landscapers put together for them (according to the neighbor at least). They’re very well done and I’ve been weeding but this specific plant has been taking over. I’ll pull it and a few days later the whole corner of the flowerbed is filled with it again. I’m assuming it’s mint of some variety? Can I ever get rid of it or do I just embrace it?

Edit to add: located in Southeast Pennsylvania

Edit: I DO NOT HAVE A GOOD SENSE OF SMELL 😂
