millipede going into moulting

my male African olive has decided to go under a piece of bark to moult, this time and not really dig at all. He is VERY active all the time, the dude loves to dig but not submerge himself.

Im on vacation, starting.. today. He has decided to go into moult and im pretty anxious about leaving him alone. My friend is coming to take care of him and a few of my other inverts (spraying). Is there anything else I can do for him? Very anxious already about leaving my babies

(Picture of him a few weeks ago for a reference hehe)

is he bothering you, queen??

got these 2 beauties today and they’re so silly . The female (named Milkshake) is so explorative until her big clunky husband (Cookie) waddles over 😭

I’ll be receiving a breeding pair of these stags and I was wondering if anyone has any first hand advice about keeping them?

what kind of moth is this? I believe it to be hemithea aestivaria?
Found in south west England. Very beautiful find!! In my area i only ever see dull coloured moths.

growing more concerned for my telodeinopus aoutii

went to check on my highly inactive baby that I’ve been concerned about since I got them (4 ish days ago now) and their legs have completely stopped moving and im growing concerned.

I previously was advised they were freshly moulted so I covered with a leaf, and have left them ever since. However I lift to check today and this is how I’ve found them. Im a bit concerned still and maybe I just need reassurance that they’re moulting/freshly moulting waiting for exoskeleton to harden.

the temps have been up to 35 today so I expect inactivity but this little guy has been highly inactive since I got them.

please be patient, I am a first time millipede owner who is concerned. This behaviour might be normal but im worried for my little guy

telodeinopus aoutii is it okay?

I bought 2 little guys locally yesterday, their enclosure seemed pretty good at the pet store (it’s an independent pet store so I feel like they take good care of their animals and have bought other inverts from there before which are thriving). Since moving these two in, one of them has taken up a very tight curl and is pretty unresponsive. May I add, when this millipede was chosen out from the others, it was in a very tight curl already. It hasn’t really moved at all since putting it in my enclosure and keeps pulling its legs (as seen in video) with no prompting like noises or vibrations. Is it alright? I’ve seen it poop a few times and also do that little iodine excrement when I took it home in its container. I understand that it’s all a new enclosure and they are both just stressed but im a new millipede owner and im unsure about its behaviour. Any advice is very much appreciated.

Kept the sound on so you can hear that no noises or movement are present and prompting the pulsing legs. But you can hear my music from my headphones and the fan LOL (which is far away from the enclosure before anyone asks!)

How do I desensitise?

Yo, new-ish taxidermist here.
I’ve always been kinda squeamish about innards from any kind of animal/insect but this past year I’ve got really into bug pinning and other small taxidermy projects. I was doing ok until one of my specimens was absolutely riddled with parasitic wasp larvae, and even after freezing, larvae were emerging. Another incident, I tried to preserve one of my pachnoda marginata grubs but its guts were literally leaking out its spircales and I felt so bad for trying to preserve it and grossed out. (I tried wet preservation and boiled the grub before)
Since then, I am genuinely so put off from doing any more taxidermy, yet I enjoy the results and beauty of having specimens so much. But I feel like I’m way too empathetic and afraid to cut open and gut an animal or large insect. (This may also be because the specimens I spoke about were both under my care when they died)
I really can’t bring myself to gut anything. How do I become ok with gutting? Is there any way? Im also very afraid of finding parasites again, as it was pretty traumatic lol. I just need advice on what to do now. Maybe this hobby isn’t for me even though I really enjoy it.
