I love your state so much and wanted somewhere to express it

This is my second time visiting Wyoming. First time I visited was a roadtrip from TN to Jackson Hole to visit the Tetons. That’s when I first fell in love. This trip I’m on now is for my move, just passing through since my job moved me to Seattle and I’ve got to pass through to make it to Washington. Came through Cheyenne/Laramie/Rock Springs the first trip and this current trip takes me through Gillette and Casper.

So far I’ve visited 35 states in the country, and no state speaks to me on the level Wyoming does. I’m from rural TN so maybe that has something to do with it, I’m used to rural life. But it’s just so different from home too

Wyoming really clears my mind. The free range wildlife, the isolation, everyone is so welcoming and kind, the gorgeous rolling hills with sagebrush and wildflowers all the way to the mountains out west. I just really wanted to express to the Wyoming locals that I recognize your state goes under the radar and everyone thinks “oh there isn’t anything there”. Right. And that’s why I like it. It’s nature untouched and wildlife untamed. I can’t get enough of it.

I’m sure it has its flaws, all states do, and I don’t want to over romanticize it to the point to where I ignore those. Winters are brutal and it takes an hour to get to a Walmart in some parts. But man I just think the positives really outweigh the cons. And sure that comes to personal taste. But your state is just so lovely and I want to visit every chance I get

One day down the road, if yall would have me, I’d love to call this place home when I retire.

Keep being awesome, Wyoming

Also shoutout to Josh Allen, my favorite QB, attending the U of Wyo

Songs about moving away from home

Looking for stuff to listen to on this long haul move I’m about to take on. Moving from Nashville to Seattle for work so lots of ground to cover and lots of time to listen to new stuff

I will say, I’m looking for stuff a little more bittersweet in sound. Don’t Follow by Alice In Chains comes to mind.

I say this because I’m a lifelong TN native, so it’s a little sad leaving home. So not necessarily looking to a “let’s blow this popsicle stand” type of song lol if that makes sense

Any suggestion will be appreciated and I’ll be happy to add them to the driving playlist!

Might be the most egregious case of forward settling I have ever seen

And I thought Hiawatha was bad with this.

Note:

  1. Was rushing Stonehenge (idk why), so no I don't have my second city out yet, and I was going to settle there or somewhere close to there but didn't think I HAD to right away because I just could not imagine a world where Casimir has the balls to settle this close to my cap (clearly I was wrong)
  2. The two units fortified up top were to gauge if he was on his way down here. He obviously was, so I was just like okay well lets see I'm just curious. Otherwise I know I could have delayed him at the least
  3. Yes, free expand for me I am aware. And he will lose this city for this. I am already on it,

Was just so ridiculous I had to share

This super strange graphical glitch I encounter every so often

I'm just genuinely curious if I'm the only one that's ever seen this. I get it every so often, I'm not entirely sure what causes it but it's such an eye sore (even with the glorious t-posing) that I have to exit to desktop and restart the game and then it fixes itself

Also sorry I am well aware I post in here a lot but I've been meaning to share this one and was just waiting for the next time it happened to post

People who rev their tricked out car exhausts in residential areas

I’ve heard these people argue “I paid a ton of money for this car I’m doing this for me not for you”. Good for you, spend your money how you like, can you still just be considerate and not shake the entire neighborhood with the sound of your car especially when it’s 2AM

I've seen lots of horrible AI cities, but this may be the very worst one I have ever seen

Ice and snow everywhere. One fish tile. One tundra deer. No way to trade via cargo ships. I just wonder what goes through the AI's mind (or lack thereof) when choosing to settle in places like this like how is it coded

Asked yesterday about best Liberty civs for single player and overwhelmingly Celts were the top answer. Can confirm - great liberty civ

Took some rerolls for a good start/expands but just had an amazing Celts game on Deity. Started by opening liberty and quickly expanding. Starting religion I chose god of the open sky to make up for some of the lost culture liberty has to deal with, and then I finished out piety before going rationalism (probably a mistake, as I was behind in techs until late atomic era, but I really really wanted to the glory of God for reformation)

Didn't struggle on happiness at all... gold was somewhat shaky but workable... I had to block Carthage from expanding with a warrior and two scouts early so I could snag the good spots and then I had to proceed to, for lack of a better term, suck her off all game long so she didn't war me (seriously, I hate the Carthage AI so much) and it worked because I never got warred but she STILL stole some land near Nantes with a citadel... so annoying lol I hate Dido

But all in all - great game - faith went insane this game, to the glory of God is great and used it for engineers/scientists/writers. Would love to go even wider at some point with the Celts to get that faith train going even more

Best Single Player Liberty Civs?

Tradition gets old after some time even if it’s optimal. I just did a game as China and won (immortal difficulty) going Liberty. The Paper Maker alone makes them great for Liberty because it really helps with the gold issues a lot of civs will struggle with by going Liberty.

I realize I somewhat answered my own question because I would vote China as the best Liberty Civ, with maybe Maya a close second.

Who else do you find does well going Liberty on single player? I want to try some strategies out with your suggestions

And he, in fact, died for this

(was playing domination anyway)

Keep in mind I primarily play on Immortal difficulty and occasionally Deity. Civs like France and Brazil could be much higher if their performance was better at higher difficulty levels.

Also, goes without saying, this is just my personal opinion. I think one of the cool things about Civ is everyone has different favorites for different reasons so this is just to open up the conversation about what your favorites are!

I swear it feels like every single game I've started recently I meet an AI within the first 2 turns and they're always obnoxiously close. But this one in particular is unreal.
