NOTE: The UKRI email explicitly invited me to appeal within 7 days if I disagreed with the remit rejection (woes of interdisciplinarity). Not an unprompted attempt from myself to a final decision!

With that in mind, I submitted my appeal within the allocated 7 days to the email address stated.

A week has passed, and I have had no acknowledgement of the appeal since. In the UKRI Funding Service, the application is still listed as "Submitted" and has not been assigned to a group yet.

I am not expecting anything fast, and I know things progress slow - and that 7 days isn't much time at all! But there is so little information on appeals with UKRI (which I understand are very rarely offered) so I was wondering if anybody had been through the process and might be able to offer some insight about what timescales might be, just for my own reference about what to expect.

I've not identified the exact funding call as I don't believe that's important, but I can provide more details of it is!
