Crime 101 (2026): The November 2025 calendar is impossible

Crime 101 (2026): The November 2025 calendar is impossible

In one scene, a character's computer shows a monthly calendar for November 2025. The calendar is impossible. It shows November 7 falling on a Monday, but in the real 2025 calendar, November 7 was a Friday.

What's interesting is that the production team was otherwise very consistent with the date. There's an early close-up of a phone's lock screen that prominently shows "Monday, November 7," and another scene includes a newspaper article dated November 7, 2025. So credit to the props/production team for maintaining continuity that the story takes place on what they intended to be Monday, November 7, 2025.

Air show rehearsals today: expect fighter jets over Long Island

Heads up, especially for anyone new to Long Island: if you see fighter jets flying overhead today, it's because they're rehearsing for this Sunday's/Monday's Jones Beach Air Show, not because of a national security incident.

In "Over Your Dead Body" (2026), the gas pump math is impossible

In Over Your Dead Body, a gas pump displays:

  • Total: $53.35
  • 13.18 gallons
  • Price per gallon: $3.999

At $3.999/gallon, 13.18 gallons would cost $52.71.

Assuming the 13.18 gallons and $53.35 total are correct, the price per gallon should be about $4.05, not $3.999.

Looking for a large indoor space to fly paper airplanes

My nephew recently got a book of paper airplane designs and has been busy testing them out. I figure a wind-free environment would be ideal for seeing how they actually perform.

Does anyone know of a good indoor spot where we could fly them? An indoor basketball court seems like it would work well, but I'm open to any suggestions.

Ideally, it'd be within about 10 miles of Commack, though that's not a dealbreaker.

If you have a suggestion you'd rather not post publicly, such as an office building with a large atrium or another indoor space that might work, feel free to send me a DM.

In Relay (2024), the fixer's instructions accidentally repeat the same instruction twice

In Relay (2024), the fixer is portrayed as someone who plans every detail with extreme precision. However, in a close-up of the written instructions he gives a client, two of the instructions are identical: both ask for the name, phone number, and address of the company's CEO.

Since the character is obsessively meticulous, this is a certainly a production/set-design error rather than an intentional detail that would occur in universe.

Dremel right-angle attachment rod came loose, safe to epoxy back in?

I have a Dremel right Angle Attachment (575). Inside the housing there’s about a 1.75" rod that connects the Dremel’s drive adapter to the attachment's gear mechanism.

For some reason, that rod has come loose from the gear assembly and can now slide out completely. The attachment still works fine, but when I remove it I have to keep track of the rod so it doesn’t fall out and get lost.

My thought was to glue or epoxy it back into place, but I have some concerns:

  • What should I use? Would something like JB Weld make sense here?
  • Since this spins at high speed (10k–30k RPM), do I need to worry about balance? For example, could a tiny amount of uneven adhesive cause a catastrophic failure?

Curious if anyone’s dealt with this or has suggestions.

150 workouts and I only just noticed the progress bars on the monitor slowly fill during each set

So we're probably all aware that there's a series of progress bars on the studio monitor, that indicate which set we're currently on and how many sets there are to go.

What I didn't notice, until today, is that during the duration of a set, the bar for that set is slowly filling in. So if the set is 30 seconds of work, the bar is empty at first, 10 seconds into the set it's now 1/3 filled in, 20 seconds into the set it's 2/3 filled in, and at 30 seconds it's completely filled in.

I usually think I am pretty observant, so only noticing this after 150 workouts made me laugh at myself.

Using a wall clock with only two of its four battery slots. Downsides?

I bought a digital wall clock that is set up for four C batteries. The battery compartment is arranged two across and two wide. When I put in only two batteries, the clock turns on and seems to work normally.

Is there any downside to using it with just two batteries? I figure the only tradeoff is that the batteries will run out sooner, but I am wondering if there is anything else I should know.

I saw a flyer looking for volunteers for a simulated emergency/disaster response drill at Jones Beach at the end of the month. It says volunteers would “portray park visitors” from 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

Has anyone here done one of these before? What do they actually have you do?

Also curious if anyone on the police/first responder side can weigh in on what volunteers should expect.

I've emailed the organizers asking this question, but I figured it would also be useful to hear first-hand accounts.
