OG Fallout Games

I'm curious to hear from both Fallout fans and maybe people who aren't as much of die hard fans, have you played Fallout 1 and/or 2 and did you enjoy them?

I enjoy the modern Fallout games but sometimes I feel overwhelmed by all there is to do, and I feel like these OG games might be more my speed.

Also, what about Fallout Tactics? I hadn't ever heard of this until downloading Steam so I'm really curious to hear about this one, thanks!

Admit to the Unknown

I have recently been reading the Bible for the first time in my life. I was brought to church until about 6th grade and then never really looked back, and even when being forced to go with family, I would quite literally hide in parts of the church and play my gameboy to avoid going.

I think that a lot of nonreligious folks, myself included, were more under the impression that there is simply a mass acceptance of whatever is being taught in their church/religious texts. But in addition to the Bible, I have been reading works like:

  • Where is the God of Justice? by Warren McWilliams
  • The Torah: A Beginner's Guide by Joel S. Kaminsky (Author), Joel N. Lohr
  • The Bible and the Believer: How to Read the Bible Critically and Religiously by Daniel J. Harrington, Marc Zvi Brettler, and Peter Enns

^((And I would LOVE other recommendations, especially those in other faiths))

But one of the most reassuring aspects of these books right now, as I'm struggling mentally and religiously, has been the fact that every author has acknowledged that we have been analyzing these texts for over two millennia and we don't have "answers."

I personally think it would bring more people in who consider themselves nonreligious, for the religious folks to take more of an approach of "when I was struggling, this helped me" rather than "this will help provide guidance and answers" when it comes to attending church, reading the Bible/Torah/Quran, or praying.

Maybe I've just had an unfortunate "type" of Christian to try and guide me in the past, I'd love to hear other people's takes, experiences, or other book recommendations ❤️

Next Steps

Hey all!

This is a new one for me. I'm 32 years old, and was recently terminated for the first time in over a decade in the work force.

Long story short - I was forced out by an incompetent leader. Nearly ever staff member in the office reached out to me to voice their shock and confusion.

I have worked in admin leadership / office management type roles, from warehouses to healthcare. I would like to find a job where I can grow with the company and actually have a career, hopefully in operations. I'm currently studying for a Lean Six Sigma certificate to try and boost my resume. But it's been a month now and I've had zero job prospects. A few conversations with recruiters but no follow ups after the initial call.

For better or worse, I thrive at work and being productive, it's my happy place. So since losing my job, on top of the financial stress that this causes, I just feel lost and I don't know what to do.

If any further context is needed, please let me know. But I'm open to hearing any advice, whether career, how to navigate unemployment, or how to stop ruminating over my former employer. Additionally, I'm near the Chicago Loop area. Thanks all!

Low Demand Games

I recently downloaded steam and I want to get a couple games, but I'm running off a Lenovo laptop.

Any game recommendations that can run on even the crappiest laptop gaming setup?

House Flipper worked great but even the demo of Powerwash Simulator 2 seemed to be too much for some reason. I'm not sure what to try haha

I just wanted to share this older project. I wasn't on reddit at the time so it never went anywhere lol

3D / Usable Creation Ideas??

I love 3D or usable perler bead patterns, like pokemon balls, plants, or glasses stands and stuff. Does anyone have any new ones they've tried? I'm desperate for some new ones that I haven't seen 1000 times haha. Thanks!!
