Our old cat we took to the vet because she needed to get a tooth removed. A particularly wide and long hiss this morning revealed a full set of teeth on “the imposter”.
Also after looking at some snapchat memories of the old cat we think it is smaller so given the very healthy teeth, size and lack of ferocity we think this is a young cat, around a year old. Not sure if boy or girl as we haven’t got that brave. I did change its water and bedding with no dramas but my arm was wrapped in a towel and my hand had an oven mitt on.
A bit relieved the old cat hadn’t forgotten me. But also this cat might tame. It’s not very wild like they can get when they get older.
Going to give it a chance.
Hi everyone.
We live rurally and around 8 years ago a feral little ball of fluff came into the laundry. We caught it and being a young kitten in tamed very easily and was honestly the coolest cat for a few years.
Then we totally ruined its life by having children. She stopped coming inside and just lived a barn cat life with the added benefits of regular cat biscuits.
Then we moved. I had her set up in a very large dog cage and was going to keep there for 5-7 days but my husband decided to let her out after only 1 night and then left a door open for half a second and she was never seen again.
Fast forward 2 years, we captured a cat in a trap at the dump that we are 99% sure is her. However she has gone a bit growly and hissy, but not acting like a completely wild cat would.
The kids are older and therefore more respectful or her need for space so we thought we would give her a chance to become domesticated again.
We have her set up in the large dog cage again with food, water a litter tray and a comfy catmat to lie on.
Does anyone have any advice?
I have caught, tamed and rehomed a lot of wild kittens, I usually wrap them in a towel and force love on them until they decide I am ok. It normally takes half a day with a refresher in the towel the next morning and they are fully tame and purring away.
However I never bothered with an adult feral cat. Any adult ones usually get put down. Harsh but it’s NZ and there is a lot of bird species under threat from wild cats. The new home has a lot of beautiful native birds around so should she become domesticated again we would set up a catio which was the original plan when we moved. This cat looks like it has been doing very well out there, it’s a little skinny but not unhealthy at all.
Can it be done? Chatgpt and google think not. But you are smarter than them.
The ios camaps follow app is very laggy, so much so it is pretty much unusable. We were looking at xdripios or zukka but I don’t think they will work with libre 3 plus.
Would love to hear from someone who has got it working well.
Hey clever people.
I am struggling with small font but don’t they all want it?!
Anyway I choose and Inkstitch font that isn’t tiny but stitches out tiny that actually looks great.
Now I cannot get it to trim after the letter, or words.
Things I did:
Set it up to trim after every letter when I first types it out in the lettering part of inkstitch.
Inkscape - preferences: min jump stitch .3mm
Params: there are cuts everywhere! The jump stitch is set to tiny.
What am I missing?!
On a pr670e brother using sim thread. It looks really good apart from the lack of trim. That looks bad. And I really din’t want to cut them all manually as I have 100 to do.
Hi guys.
Anyone using a top digitiser. I have a logo with a little serif font. It can be done as small as I want because I am looking at one that they have had done before, but I’m struggling to find someone who can provide the serif that small.
I’m using a brother pr670e and inkscape but have the hatch free trial going at the mo.
Alternatively, I would totally pay a good tiny serif font that comes highly recommended.
Hi,
New, in a small town with lots of small town support which is so great, however, the jobs are often small runs with supplied and pricey garments.
Because I’m just learning there is a few mistakes happening, hooping errors (hopefully a thing of the past) bobbins birdnesting etc.
Do mistakes just stop when you get more experience or do you have disclaimers on supplied garments?
I’ve been replacing the garments, and gaining cool new suppliers as a bonus but still… not something I can do forever if I want to be serious about this.
Hi brought a pes front from etsy. Cannot figure out how to add it?
I just need 5 font words in a serif font like times new roman, very thin. Can anyone help?
Has anyone got the font times new roman digitised that they would like to share for free? I need it tiny if poss.
Around 20 years ago the central city was my stomping ground. Many a good night spent there.
I thought we had seen the best of it but last night I took the family to the new stadium for the first time and just wow!
The central city is amazing. It was great for kids. Plenty of parking and everything was so close.
Also The bar scene looks epic and I almost wish I was 20 again to explore it.
The pop up and artsy culture vibe is just so cool.
And of course Chch people you are the best, all so friendly and grounded.
The earthquake sucked, we lost so much; but having the central city stadium and well thought out rebuild is an all right commiseration package I guess.
Hi guys,
Can you easy “minus back” of an embroidery design . Ie say you had a sunflower with a satin outline and centre and you wanted 5 of them slightly over lapping, could you cut easily them so the stitches don’t overlap?
Hi,
Digitised a satin drop shadow logo yesterday, that was a learning curve, just one issue left to solve….
Cannot get the tiny thread to come out nice even tho it is within the Inkstitch font scale parameters.
I have 40w thread, normal needles - no idea what size.
Is it just the needle or are there other things I could try?
If it is the needle, the logo is only two colours, do I use the small needle for the whole colour block or just trick the machine into doing the font only, I’m gonna need more white spools aren’t I?
I love good written steps. I hate long winded videos.
I’m learning ink stitch/ ink scape.
I know Illustrator so I usually design in illustrator then copy/paste the SVG into inkscape. I will work on learning Inkscape but for now…
I’d like a quick reliable way to do a satin border around a fill stitch shape.
Does anyone have a good resource?
All suggestions welcome.
Hi guys, just built the apple version of aaps called trio. Waiting until office hours before I go live. Anyone here using it?
