I love the Doux but this one goes in the trash

I tried to love it, I tried to make it work, but after using it this weekend, I didn't even want to wait until I got home to be rid of it.

I have short, medium density hair with very fine strands. This gel makes me feel like I am wearing a helmet. Bee girl is just way too much for my strands and my hair feels like straw using it. I want touchable hold but not this much hold.

I prefer the 808 gel paired the mousse def foam or the honey crazy sexy curl styling foam.

Xray took this baller photo of my nostril piercing!

I have a printed copy of an old xray or my chest when I had nipple piercings and its one of my greatest treasures. This picture will be added right next to it.

Nostril piercing is about 4 years old or so.

I wore my natural hair at my friends wedding

Did perm rods, used miche anti humidity gel and used a portable hooded dryer to set it. Then i finished it off with got 2 be hair spray to hold it.

When I had locs I struggled with "dandruff". My scalp was itchy and always flaking. I washed my hair weekly and I used oils to help soothe my scalp. With my last loc set, I struggled endlessly trying to find a solution to my scalp issues. I was buying skin care serums for my scalp hoping it would work too.

Last year I combed out my locs for an unrelated reason, to embrace my natural hair. I spent the year figuring out my routine and getting to know my hair.

What shouldn't have surprised me but it did discovering it, was every-time I put oil or grease on my scalp, it would get itchy and flakey. I didn't catch it at first but with changing products and routines so often, I wasn't using oils as much anymore as naturally. I liked using grease on my hair but noticed when I applied an oil or grease to my scalp, I had a white patch on my scalp in the same area the next day. So I stopped.

My scalp health improved even more when I started to wash my hair more than once a week. Washing 2-3 times a week is the sweet spot for me. I even experimented with daily washing for the goal of 7 days but only made it to 6 days because Adhd sucks. My hair didn't feel bad or dry or brittle because I have a shampoo, conditioner and leave in base that works for me.

When I went for my hair cut 3 weeks ago, my stylist who worked on my head before when I had locs noted how healthy my scalp looked and how easy my hair got cleansed with one shampoo round.

I will say it is an adjustment to make these changes. I feel like I was conditioned to have something on my scalp. It feels weird having it just be skin. But your scalp needs to breathe and needs to be clean.

Theres a youtuber I stumbled upon that inspired me to wash my hair more often. I will try to find their if I can!

Frustrated with my hair and with styling

Is it delusional of me to just want to wake up and go? This is my hair freshly washed with leave in only. Today might be a "bad" hair day because I didn't use stylers like normal.

I feel like I give Aunt Viv but not in a cute flattering way.

My hair is tight on the sides and crown BUT loose in the very front and kitchen.

I wash my hair 2-3 times a week due to being active.

I want to grow my hair AND rock my natural texture, but I am tired of the constant restyling for wash n gos and am tempted to loc my hair again.

I want to do limited styling but have a hard time with the texture differences. My life would be easier if it was all one texture 😭.

I tried mini twists and braids but hated both because my hair is fine and take down took forever due to tangling and knots despite prepping my hair and keeping the ends trimmed.

Any advice on styling? I want an easy style. Thinking of going to cornrow route but that can be pricey.

Fyi, I also got a recent hair cut. My shape was worse previously.
