FYI Free access to ancestry.com through local library

FYI Free access to ancestry.com through library for Canadian documentation

Hi, Providing this info as an FYI.

I learned that my local library card (MA USA) provides free access to ancestry.com. This was a critical key for me to source all my G0 and G1 Candian ancestry docs. I'm unsure of other states / countries library access, but it's worth looking up. I hope this helps others!

When a shower curtain touches me

I get so grossed out and simultaneously angry when the shower curtain touches me. I have to maneuver as needed to wash all my bits, when all the sudden, the shower curtain assaults me. I especially loath the plastic ones. I bought a curved shower curtain rod and a washable shower curtain which both make the experience better, but I still occasionally graze the curtain and curse.

Edit* hotels and Airbnb are even worse. I can only imagine the petri dish of bodily fluids, bacteria and mold. I've encountered more than one shower with an in-curved curtain in which I struggle to escape.

New shed build and permitting in MA

I bought a fixer upper 12 years ago and it came with a functional but rotting shed that sits about 2ft from side fence. I'd like a new shed in a new location but I'm reading about permits for my city in MA. It's saying anything 200 sq ft or less (I don’t want anything larger) doesn't need a permit but it will need to be 12ft from the side property line. This distance seems unreasonable. I was hoping for more like 5ft from side of property line. Do most contractors / shed companies abide by these rules? Or do I have a decent chance for wiggle room?

Ideas for charm necklace for multiple map charms?

I want to make a charm necklace for my cousin using map pendants from places we've traveled together. I have 6 charms so far but I'm stumped on what type of chain to use and how to attach them. I don't know if stainless steel or that black boho-ish rope (not sure if the material) would work better. I'm also open to adding beads to break up the space between the charms. I'll also need the charms to fit over whatever type of clasp.

I don't have experience making jewelry and I don't have jewelry making supplies but I have home tools like needle nose pliers.

I'm not sure if this post is allowed but I'd be incredibly grateful for any crafty suggestions!

Has this happened to others? Should I be concerned?

I had my hair bleached today at a salon and now my crotch smells like the bleach. It's pretty concentrated as I'm on my period and wearing knix. Is this a thing?

I showered before my appt, so the bleach did not run down my body to cause this.
