Need genuine reviews about "Oppam"

I want to know if anyone has tried with Oppam online therapy.

I am seriously considering re-starting my therapy. Life has become too difficult for me. I have started procrastinating a lot lately. I'm also experiencing random panic attacks. Not the intensive ones. but I can feel the anxiety build up, and heavy breathing that follows.

The doctor I had planned to see, through a reference, is on medical leave. He would not be resuming consultation till August. I don't think I can wait that long.

The news about the recent family suicide is also kind of pushing me. I don't know if you can understand when I say this - I feel motivated to do the act. But, I know I can't do that, so I'm conflicted but safe.

Then I came across Oppam. I don't know if online therapies help that much. Seeking genuine suggestions, reviews and feedbacks.

Has Therapy helped anyone?

Has anyone truly recovered from mental health issues like depression, stress and trauma? I'm unable to commit to a therapist or psychiatrist. I feel distant, and fake meeting a handful of therapists in Kochi. "Fake" doesn't mean they are faking their job, but I have this pre-conceived notion that they are just talking artificially to validate me and help me. Would they give the same explanations and advice if I meant something to them really.

Back to the question. I have not many anyone who is cured from their mental health issues. Many dropped off, many still visits even when there is no evident change in them. Or, it could be just my circle of friends, who are not able to keep up timely consultations.

Is there anyone out there who can say, they are cured or at least, are in control of their issues/disorder?

Why Indians including Malayalis lack Manners and Etiquette?

We are generally very rude.

A service provider doesn’t know how to talk with their customers politely. And If they are in a public department, don’t expect any courtesy from most of these people.

Even the attitude of the harithasena is sometimes questionable.

The auto drivers, bus conductor. Everyone seem to lack basic manners and etiquette while communicating with a stranger. Most Uber taxi dudes are polite though.

You can see this cultural difference when you visit abroad.

This is a failure of education system. People usually don’t want to enact what they learnt at school in their daily lives. Or we are not teaching our kids better.

There are places where people actually show politeness, but they are inly because their organisation demand them to.

No Religion Ever Called Slavery a Sin. Why?

If god values human dignity, why was slavery even allowed?

Even after their multiple revelations, god never wanted slavery gone.

Humanity ended slavery, or at least the aggressive version of it. Religion never did.

Thoughts?

From Bible

  • Leviticus 25:44–46: explicitly permits Israelites to buy slaves from surrounding nations and treat them as inheritable property.
  • Exodus 21:20–21: discusses punishment if a master beats a slave, but says if the slave survives a day or two, “he is his money.”
  • Ephesians 6:5: “Slaves, obey your earthly masters…”
  • Colossians 3:22: similar instruction to obey masters.
  • 1 Peter 2:18: tells slaves to submit even to harsh masters.

From Qur'an

  • Qur'an 4:3
  • Qur'an 4:24
  • Qur'an 23:5–6
  • Qur'an 70:29–30

These verses repeatedly refer to “those whom your right hands possess” (a classical phrase understood as slaves/concubines).

From Hindu Texts

Arthashastra

  • Book 3, Chapter 13 discusses slaves, labour obligations, purchase, inheritance, and release.
  • It regulates treatment, contracts, and rights, but does not abolish slavery.

Manusmriti

  • Manusmriti 8.413–418: lists categories of slaves*,* including those born into slavery, purchased, inherited, or captured.
  • Manusmriti 8.414: explicitly recognizes a person can be bought and owned.
  • Manusmriti 9.334–335: reinforces caste-based duty and social subordination.

This is why India is still underdeveloped.

Are we still living in the 12th century?

Looking for a place to escape for 5 days

I’m looking for a complete mental detox.

I want to escape to a place for 5-7 days within Kerala; with no internet. I want to slow down, and heal.

RN i don’t have anything particular in mind. It can be a place for physical activities. Or it can also be a space for yoga and medication and stuffs like that.

I want to forget everything for those days there. Engage in things i didn’t experience before. Get excited, get bored. Get healed.

Quiet places in Ernakulam, preferably around Kakkanad

I’m looking for a quiet place in Ernakulam, eapecially around Kakkanad region, where I can sit alone and sulk without being bothered. Open areas or indoors, it doesn’t matter. I’m not interested in cafe too. Food is not in the agenda. Is there any such spaces here?

Why is telecom ministry asking me to download app?

How is the telecom ministry sending me sms? I haven’t opted for it. If they sms without consent, isn’t it spamming?

why are they so particular about downloading the app? That feels sus. Can’t we check this just by using a web application instead of an app?

Do you guys get these sms too?

Why Is Kerala So Silent About LGBTQ Bullying and Harassment?

LGBTQ topics are more discussed on social media now. Queer characters appear in movies, web series, reality shows like Bigg Boss, and brands love talking about “inclusion” online. But in real life, many LGBTQ people still face daily bullying, harassment, isolation, and humiliation.

Why does nobody seriously address that?

Even today, queer people are mocked in schools, colleges, buses, and public spaces. LGBTQ slurs are casually used by young people to shame their friends or insult masculinity/femininity, and it’s treated like normal humour. A lot of people who claim to be “progressive”, voice for human rights, or support the Palestine cause still laugh at queer stereotypes.

Political parties rarely seem to discuss LGBTQ safety, mental health, discrimination, or legal protections in a meaningful way. It feels like queer existence is acceptable only as entertainment, memes, or social media content, but not as a serious human rights issue.

While the NY Mayor creates an LGBTQ office for their affairs, here in Kerala certain politicians spite them.

I wonder when LGBTQ people in Kerala will be seen as ordinary human beings deserving dignity.
