[iOS] Sensitive ad filter stopped working

I’ve gotten two ads in a blocked sensitive category in the past 24 hours from different advertisers. I’m deleting my app because why should I bother wasting my time here if it’s not a safe space anymore, so don’t expect a response. Just hoping someone will fix it for the benefit of future users. So disappointing how Reddit has gone downhill with ads. Prioritizing ad $$ over everything else is just pathetic.

Passed out during IUI monitoring. Woke up to doctors asking if there's any chance I'm pregnant.

Literally responded "wouldn't be here if there was"

11/10 IVF humor courtesy of my husband

Starting our first stim cycle in two weeks. We were having one of those stupid conversations about if you were a Disney character who would you be and I said Elsa (because I am antisocial lol please lock me in my castle and don't talk to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). But before I could finish my thought this man said -- completely deadpan -- "because you're thinking of freezing everything?"

Bro. Let me tell you I almost peed my pants. 11/10 never change dear husband.

18 cycles after coming off the pill -- am I crazy?

As the title says, I came off the pill ~18 months ago. It's been a hot minute since I even remotely considered it as something that could still be impacting my fertility.

I've been using OPKs for ~12 cycles and have reliably surged on day CD16/17 or slightly later every single time. Never had a positive pregnancy test. Last month I surged on CD14 and wrote it off as a fluke. Fast forward to this week, I'm doing my first monitored IUI cycle and my CD12 bloodwork picked up an LH surge, meanwhile my FMU OPK from the same day was negative. So my first thought is that OPKs are wrong and I've been missing my surge by 4 days all along! Then later that evening: OPK starts to climb. And the next morning (CD13): positive OPK.

I am genuinely floored. My OPKs were consistently showing ovulation on the later side for the better part of a year, and now suddenly two months in a row of surging on CD13/14. No changes to lifestyle, diet, medication -- nothing. Is it possible my cycle is still regulating after all this time? If so, do we think this is a positive sign that could indicate potentially better odds going forward? (Yes, I know how desperate that sounds lol).

SOS!

A very unoriginal rant

Screaming into the void for a sec because I never thought my own mother would become one of those people that you rant about on the internet, but alas.

She's been hitting me with the "just relax and it'll happen" nonsense for a solid year at this point and I've just smiled through it every time, but this week I decided to actually stick up for myself (gasp, how dare I). So I responded with something along the lines of "maybe, but also it is a biological fact that some couples have trouble getting pregnant for no apparent reason".

And she hits me with "yeah, well, you're not one of those people."

Um, excuse me? EXCUSE ME?

First of all, enough with the othering language, please.

Second, what gives you the right to undermine the extensive actual modern medical testing that I've done to prove that I am, in fact, one such person? I'm not interested in your vibe-diagnosis, so please don't shove it down my throat with your declarative sentences, thank you very much.

Finally, and most upsettingly, how dare you so flagrantly undermine my emotions when I gave you the privilege of trusting you on this journey? The amount of courage and vulnerability I had to muster up to share this with people, to say nothing of the strength it took to finally stand up for myself, and you go out of your way to dismiss and actually contradict me in my experience? Unbelievable.

Probably needless to say, my mother is a shockingly self-absorbed and insecure person, so I shouldn't be surprised. I suppose I'm just upset with myself for expecting better and letting my guard down.

I know I'm not the only one dealing with these types of comments today. Sending love and strength to whoever needs it.♥️

Insurance for unexplained infertility?

My insurance says:

  • Covered: diagnosis and treatment of the cause of infertility
  • Not covered: infertility treatment

So my read of this is that if we had a clear underlying cause of infertility (eg a varicocele) then it would clearly be covered; if we were undergoing treatment for a non-medical reason (eg SMBC) then it would clearly not be covered. But what about unexplained infertility, which is very much a medical reason but not a "clear underlying cause"? Has anybody encountered something like this? If so, was your clinic able to classify unexplained infertility as an actual "cause" so that it can be covered? By "it" I mean IUI and potentially IVF.

Unmedicated positivity?

I’m starting my first IUI cycle in the next few days and I’m going unmedicated/unmonitored because my RE assured me success rates were relatively similar to medicated. Caveating that I know it’s super dependent on each person’s situation, but I can’t find a single scrap of positive news or sentiment toward unmedicated IUI on here! Does anyone have any good experiences to share?

brb crawling into a hole (humor)

I was in a work meeting with my male colleagues talking about the “universe of possibilities” for something and I very clearly said uterus instead of universe. I will never recover.

A question on statistics

Hi, frequent lurker here, most likely starting IVF this autumn. I saw a comment in the mod’s recent post implying that success was “statistically improbable” and based on what I read here all the time it feels like that’s indeed the case. But my RE says each round of IVF has a 50% success rate. It’s a confusing mix of hope when I talk to my RE and despair when I come on here, but I imagine the real truth is somewhere in the middle. Does anyone have advice on how to navigate these mixed signals?
