Excited much kaya nauna na sa invitation/notification for the MariBank credit card

It's a database issue. It's for their devs to fix it. All we can do is wait.

CIMB Bank interest rate is now at 2.30%

I don't get it.

We’ve been here before… but honestly, we didn’t expect it from Maya.

Recently, Maya rolled out an update that completely broke accessibility for blind users. If you’re using TalkBack, the app becomes completely unusable in Maya version 2.160.1. Elements aren’t being read, navigation is impossible; it feels like the UI just isn’t exposed at all.

The frustrating part? This is the exact same issue that happened with GCash not too long ago.

Back then, the blind community called it out, raised awareness, and pushed for fixes. It was a big deal because it blocked access to essential financial services. Naturally, many of us started recommending Maya as a better alternative because it was more reliable in terms of accessibility.

But now… it feels like a betrayal.

Maya has been one of the most recommended apps within the blind community, especially after GCash’s repeated accessibility issues. We’ve actively encouraged people to switch, promoted it in our groups, and trusted that accessibility was something they took seriously.

Apparently, not anymore.

This latest issue makes it feel like Maya is no different from other digital banks and e-wallet apps that treat accessibility as an afterthought or, worse, completely ignore it during updates.

And that’s the real problem here.

Accessibility isn’t optional. For many of us, these apps are the only way to manage money independently. When an update breaks screen reader support, it doesn’t just cause inconvenience. It completely removes access.

You can’t check your balance.

You can’t send money.

You can’t receive funds properly.

You’re basically locked out of your own finances.

We need developers and companies like Maya to understand that accessibility should be part of the development and testing process every single time an update is released. Not something you fix after users complain.

To the Maya team: please investigate this issue immediately, fix the accessibility problems, and ensure this doesn’t keep happening. The trust you’ve built with the blind community is on the line here.
