Is it just me, or are are factories useless?

You either win as you get them out, and they are way to thigh cost to commit too. I’d rather build an aerodrome, or anything else that gives production than a factory.

And when I do get factories out, the factory bonus is weak to non existent, and you only get one resource, it just doesn’t feel good.

Quarter Combos?

So what I mean by this is how do you stack quarters for best specialist output, I have been stacking same output building onto each other, but maybe stacking science plus production buildings is a good idea since they share adjacency, and thus snowballing is easier because you get added production to your specialists? Or food on science? Food on gold etc.

war weariness????

So I really love this game, but this shit really makes me want to go outside,

I am chilling playing mughal and all of a sudden simon bolivar shows up (AFTER I SPENT ALL MY INFLUENCE), from across the map and declares war, ( I say shows up but he has done nothing for 5 turns), I am hit with 6 war weariness. Why? what mechanic did I miss? now my entire empire is about to rebel and all he had to do was declare war, literally no buildings I can build in my towns to increase happiness.

what mechanic lets you incur on to someone 6 war weariness when you are the one declaring war, why on earth is this allowed, its so dumb.

the state of linux gaming in 2026

Have a mac, install windows as a virtual machine.

try to play civ 3, windows default arm emulation does not work

install ubuntu,

without third party emulation, download steam, play civ 3 on 2 layers of emulation

It is now easier to play 25 year old windows games on ARM linux, kinda nuts.

Dog how does AI get yields like this, on viceroy, am I just dumb lol

restarted multiple games at this point on easy mode and no matter how many buildings I spam some alpha ai always chads me. On viceroy the AI should only get a 20% boost, am I missing some obvious mechanics? (I am also settling specialists).

like this is midgame exploration this is the most egregious AI I had so far.

How are y’all getting these sub 200 science victories?

My current record is 250
I get my universities out by turn 120 and I am running internal trade routes with magnus, and I prioritize culture and feudalism early game where I improve every tile I have. I invest in coliseum and buy every lux in the game. Yet I keep stalling out at 150 to 200 science before chemistry. I will watch players get 300 at some stages where they will have less adjacency and cities then I would any given game. Do I just have to pray for 2 blue city states and Geneva?

What obscure strats Am I missing?

Why does my production jump when I start building a district?

I notice almost everyone I build a district, even when I replace a mine my production will jump by 15 to 30

Edit: Playing Ludwig
