Two days in South Goa in monsoon before heading to Gokarna. Need a plan.

Landing at Dabolim on 8 August, early morning. Need to be in Gokarna on the 10th. So I have half of the 8th and all of the 9th.
Thinking of basing in Canacona both nights and riding a scooter.

Questions:
Palolem, Patnem or Agonda for a cheap stay in August. Which one is actually open and has food.

Is Cotigao sanctuary open in monsoon? Want to do it solo on a scooter on the 9th.

Anything else worth riding to from Canacona in heavy rain.

Canacona to Gokarna on the 10th morning. Train or bus via Karwar, which is more reliable.

Not going to Colva.
Thanks.

Made GEO tool with my marketing friend support. I want to know from businesses and marketers what’s your real feedback.

> please be blunt on the feedback as this will help with the product market fit.
> Tool name is “YouGotRanked” / you’ll be able to directly find it on Google search if not try in incognito or ask me for link.
> first audit is entirely free.

Thanks.

My ex-colleague made this GEO tool, is it worth paying?

Yougotranked is the name of the tool and I’m not very sure about it, I’m more of a social media person.

Moreover is GEO tool actually worth it?

Solo traveller heading to Gokarna + Honnavar next month, few questions (safety, stay, what to expect)

First time doing this stretch. Solo trip, male traveller, late 20s. Monsoon window, I know, but I’ve heard it’s still worth it and I’m going anyway.

Few things I’m trying to figure out:

Hostel recommendations?
Where to stay in Honnavar?
Scooty rental? Okay roads?
Food options.

Any other suggestions and recommendations.

Heading to Gokarna + Honnavar in August, few questions (stay, what to expect)

Itinerary and costs (as planned):

**•**	Travelling from central India, trains already booked both ways
**•**	Arriving Karwar station, will be making my way to Gokarna
**•**	Roughly 5 nights split between Gokarna and Honnavar.
**•**	Total budget excluding trains: \~20,000 INR for everything (stay, food, local travel, activities)

First time doing this stretch.
Solo trip, male traveller, late 20s.

Monsoon window, I know, but I’ve heard it’s still worth it and I’m going anyway.

Few things I’m trying to figure out:

> Getting around once I arrive
Autos and buses from the Karwar station to Gokarna town, easy to find or should I pre-book a cab? Does it matter if I arrive early morning?

> Seat/berth situation on the train
I’ve got upper seat in 1AC both sides, it’s long journey, is there a way to get this changed, i have heard a lot about konkan railways.

> Stay recommendations
looking for a hostel. Gokarna town or Kudle side, either works.

> August ground reality
What actually shuts during monsoon? How bad is it on the beaches and roads? What would a standard packing list miss for this specific stretch?

> Safety
General solo traveller vibe, beaches, roads between spots. Anything to watch for at night?
Not looking for Instagram content recommendations, just honest advice from people who’ve done this, especially in the off-season.

Thanks.

Why does opposition politics in India still feel so reactive instead of organised? Can you do something about it?

Was reading about CJP and had a few thoughts.

Feels like there’s a huge gap nobody is addressing properly:

  1. Food safety in India is basically a joke.
  2. Universities are collapsing slowly. In MP especially, a lot of VCs/registrars are politically linked and nobody talks about accountability.
  3. Youth unemployment is bad, but directionlessness is worse. Tier 3/4 youth need actual pathways, resources, mentors, business opportunities etc.
  4. Instead of spending crores on statues and optics, why not build local issue networks?
  5. Small creators and local journalists can become decentralised reporters for CJP. Weekly state-wise issue roundups could genuinely work.
  6. RTIs are easier than ever now. Why not organise volunteers around local corruption, water issues, land acquisition etc?
  7. Local violence and suppression outside mainstream narratives rarely reaches national attention. See what’s happening in Bundelkhand, MP, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand etc.

Biggest thing missing in Indian opposition politics is organisation. Not just protests. Systems.

CJP should take help of people who can be independent volunteers who can collect data, verify issues, help activists, guide RTIs, support local media, create explainers, infographics, mindmaps etc.

Basically:
Educate. Agitate. Organize.

Joined a mid-sized Indian IT lala company in Marketing. Regretting it every single day.

Last year, during interview I clearly asked HR:
“Hope this is not secretly a BDE role?”

They said no no, pure marketing.
Fast forward few months:
“Where are the MQLs from LinkedIn?”

This is NSE-listed, profitable IT company wanting enterprise inbound leads purely from organic social media. No ads. No PR. No big events.
No distribution budget. Also as per them employer branding is wasted effort because there are so many unemployed people already out there.

And in every 2 months marketing or sales becomes the scapegoat because apparently CEOs now think Fortune 500 clients spawn magically from company page posts.

Whole social media team is basically:
“Do branding.” But also:
“Bring leads.”
But also: “No budget.”
But also: “Why engagement down?”
But also: “Don’t explain. Give solution.”

Last week, after proper requests, we got ChatGPT subscription approved and it became a mini crisis.

Meetings genuinely feel like school viva under threat. Tried explaining once that organic social has peaks depending on campaigns, events, activity cycles etc. Wrong move. Got stared at like I personally crashed company valuation by CEO.

One of the VP Engineering started teaching us marketing through AI prompts. Leadership rejects employer branding efforts but wants thought leadership outcomes. Organic social is expected to perform like paid acquisition. Nobody disagrees openly because everything becomes ego issue.

Out of multiple BDE hires in under a year, most already left or have been fired.

**Anyone else working in these kinds of setups?**
**How are you surviving this market? I really want to post about them on LinkedIn once I’m out from this shithole.**

Goa Police extorted me as a tourist in 2025. I have filled RTIs, found some proofs, what next for maximum action?

In august 2025, I was a tourist in Goa when 2 uniformed police officers in the SPCR van stopped our rental car, fabricated a non-existent traffic offence, extorted some cash with no challan or receipt, seized my phone when i tried to click their picture, forced me to delete evidence, detained me for an hour, and subjected me to sustained obscene verbal abuse.

I have spent 6 months filing complaints via emails, RTIs, and escalations entirely on my own from another state. The government’s own station diary — produced in response to an RTI — allegedly names both officers, confirms their vehicle, and places them at the location during the exact incident window.

SPCR has admitted in writing that these officers are their staff, yet has taken zero action citing an internal inter-departmental forwarding failure as justification for inaction.

I have written a formal complaint with the ACB Goa under PoCA 1988 and multiple IPC sections. The Deputy Director of Public Grievances has directed the DGP to act and report back to me. An SPCR enquiry officer has been assigned and I have submitted a full written reply with documentary evidence. A First Appeal on an evasive RTI reply is being heard this week.

Named officers. Government-confirmed deployment. No FIR registered. No departmental action.

I want criminal prosecution and departmental action not money recovery. Not looking for sympathy. Looking for what to push next.

Please help. CPGRAMS will work here?

For others: Claude was super helpful, in framing all of the RTIs, emails and everything.
