Nine years ago we lost the legend. Watch a classic Showa Godzilla movie tonight in his honor.
I was lucky enough to have spent some time with him over the years and he was a humble and kind gentleman.
Once we were at a dinner in Boston. The table next to us was full of couples in their late 20s/early thirties. When they realized “Godzilla” was at the table next to them all the guys started geeking out. He took the time to shake hands and get photos even though it was late and probably well past his bedtime. He appreciated and always seemed somewhat amused by his popularity in America.
