Question About Switching from Cat Mini to Cat 6 Mini

Question About Switching from Cat Mini to Cat 6 Mini

Hi Tractive Team,

I recently purchased a Tractive Mini from Amazon for my Siamese cat. She’s only 6.8 lbs but she’s a professional escape artist. The collar fits at its tightest setting and thankfully won’t slip over her wedge-shaped head (lol).

I’ve received the tracker and am charging it now, but before activating it I noticed the new Cat 6 Mini had become available. I went ahead and ordered one directly from your website.

Since the Cat 6 Mini isn’t expected to ship for 10+ days, can I activate and use the current Cat Mini in the meantime and then transfer the subscription/service to the Cat 6 Mini once it arrives?

I recently lost her for 24 hours and definitely don’t want to repeat that experience.

Thanks for any help!

I’ve been dealing with a persistent “wet/musty” smell and occasional damp carpet in my Model S Plaid for quite a while.

While the car was under warranty, Tesla worked through several possible causes:

- Replaced cabin and HEPA filters multiple times

- Identified wet carpet in the footwells

- Replaced the HVAC case under the assumption it was leaking

Unfortunately, the odor and moisture issue never fully went away.

I’m now out of warranty, and ahead of my next service visit I was provided an estimate to replace the HVAC drain seal.

Before proceeding, I decided to do a deeper inspection myself:

- Checked the HVAC drain/seal → completely dry and intact

- Pulled back the carpet → found standing water in the driver-side floor pan

The root cause appears to be that the driver-side floor pan drain plug is missing (the passenger side plug is still present), allowing water to enter from below (rain, road spray, etc.). I’m open to other ideas if this doesn’t fully make sense, but given the standing water and saturated insulation, it seems like a direct ingress point.

The driver side had the most moisture, and over time the insulation became saturated and seems to have spread moisture to the passenger side as well.

This lines up pretty well with everything I’ve experienced over time, including the odor.

I’ve shared these findings with Tesla ahead of my appointment and am hoping we can get it resolved properly.

Sharing in case it helps anyone else troubleshooting a similar issue—might be worth checking the floor pan plugs if you’re dealing with unexplained moisture.

Curious if anyone else has run into something like this?
