Locked my account for a completely ordinary Zelle transaction
My company manages about $750k in client funds across dozens of Truist accounts. We use Zelle.multiple times a week, often for several thousand dollars at a time.
Yesterday I sent a Zelle payment of $47.38 to someone we had never paid before. Truist put the transaction on hold and told me they'd get back to me in 24 hours
This morning I tried to log in to truist.com and my account was locked. They didn't reach out to me to ask if I had made the $47 payment. They just locked the account I use every day to manage client accounts.
Neither the customer service rep who unlocked my account after a long phone call nor the account manager who just happened to call me to check in less than an hour after the account was unlocked seemed to think this was anything terribly concerning.
I used to have a person assigned to my account who I could call or email with any problems, and she knew me and would fix them. Now I have to hope the Business Connect person assigned to my request is competent. It's really disappointing that Truist has made these changes to the detriment of their customers
