I forgot snagged this on eBay and put it immediately into storage along with all my other Wipeout memorabilia. Thought it might be worth a post for anyone who’s not see this Wipeout cover art for Fusion. Obviously not an original piece from Wipeout but some of these magazines seemed to hire artists to do custom covers rather than just use promo or screen shots from the game. I like the effort.
This is a Bumagid model purchased from Etsy. This was apparently an easy pattern. I clearly am a very very dumb person then. I didn’t know what I was doing half the time. Oh well, the wife likes it enough to have me put it on the wall rather than in the trash. Obviously could have been way cleaner but I don’t have the patience to do it again. I do like the polygonal aesthetics of this style of paper craft though.
Nice bit of mid 90s cgi in the intro and outdo. Didn’t get much cooler than this for a kid in the 90s!
Purchased a used Pelican Laptop Case. Previous owner didn’t know the code. Thought I’d just start from 000 and go to 999. Well after two very numb thumbs I want to throw this thing across the room…
I love how AI, considering the wealth of information it has to work with and from what I’ve seen has never been able to nail the essence of what makes a Wipeout craft truly “Wipeout”. This stuff is so whack.
A state that prays together stays together I guess. I get that these are franchises but man I wish these did not exist.

The artwork also has vector outlines of craft that are meant to look similar to Wipeout craft. Thanks is also given to Wipeout Fusion on the reverse of the release. https://www.discogs.com/shop/item/313423873
The Instagram algorithm came through on this one. Before I’m accused of posting AI slop, In the original description, it says that this was designed in blender for quicker execution of ideas and will then be made in unreal engine for the actual game. So obviously it’s very early. But what excited me was the aesthetics and also they seem to really have a taste for the Y2K aesthetic in the music as well so it definitely has a vibe. It appears to be called “Quatiica” on instagram. I am in no way affiliated with this. Just posting because it could be a cool wipeout adjacent game.
