Grafting question

I grafted a cutting of glorp too a pach a week ago and have checked it today and it’s stuck on there good and proper, was wondering when it should be ok too release pressure from it, and also can I put it into direct sun after pressure is taken off or…? Any tips advice would be appreciated

Question

What’s the best material for graft pressure is it medical bandage pantyhose or…?
I have some cactus that I can’t really afford too lose. Any advice would be great I’ve only ever had 1 successful graft out of 5 I’ve attempted and when the tutorial says there should be overlap with vascular rings does that mean match rings together?

ANOTHER 🙄

All my lophs are inside the shed with lights and heat mats I’ve been watering them sparingly and a bit over 50% are going soft(I’m not alarmed) just curious too why this might be, it gets down to 1.1 degrees Celsius here of a night could have something to do with it? I put a fan on it to circulate some air but too no good results. They should be sturdy enough too make it to spring, then I can return too the greenhouse

Choices

Which one would be more beneficial for my yotes, dolomite lime or natural garden lime, I don’t have access too lime stone chips. Would either of these be helpful or not necessary, any tips would be great thanks in advance ✌️

Possible?

I attempted this graft about 3/4 months ago and I doesn’t seem to have taken, i haven’t done anything just left it. Is it possible too take it off and try it on another one? I have another one of these with the same issue l. What am I doing wrong? Can somebody with experience in grafting give me some tips? I’ve looked through all the Reddit posts and followed protocol eg, sliced, sterile, matched up the Vascular Cylinder, applied pressure etc. any tips or guidance would be highly appreciated

Useable

Is this an acceptable type of oyster shell? In Australia they don’t sell it at our major DIY shops

Who chooses??

Who decides what cactus are “IN” so to speak or is it like a journey you start with one type say scop and then convert too bridge and Peruvianus etc I’m quite new to cactus 1 year now maybe 1&1/2 years I’ve built quite the collection
