She’s here!

In March, I had to vacate my condo unit due to extensive water and smoke damage caused by a fire in my neighbor’s unit. It’s been a crappy four months of being displaced while repairs took place, but getting to upgrade a few things via insurance has been a small silver lining.

I found Thuma when searching for a bed frame tested for heavier weight - it’s amazing how many frames on the market list something like 400-600 lbs. I’m a petite person, but when thinking about the weight of a person, mattress, etc… my little dogs like to sleep under the bed and while I never had issues with my old Wayfair bed frame, I guess I got paranoid thinking about that more and wanted to find something genuinely solid.

My queen frame and headboard in walnut arrived today. The wood is absolutely gorgeous and everything was SO easy to put together.

Really happy with the purchase!

Note: those aren’t scratches on the wood in the joint photo; just wool fibers from the area rug.

Dubious about the hydrangeas

Miss Mo is a real Ferdinand and LOVES sniffing flowers, but wasn’t so sure about the neighbor’s hydrangeas today!

Scratched LVP question

My condo is undergoing renovations following a fire in a neighboring unit that caused major water damage in mine. My building’s insurance is handling all the repair work, so I don’t have as much freedom as I might if I were working with my own handpicked teams.

Anyway, the issue that has popped up is that workers doing other repairs put some deep scratches into my newly installed floor. 😑

The company managing all of the renovations is going to repair the floor, but it will be by cutting out the damaged boards and gluing in replacements.

I have read that this is industry standard for LVP, but would love thoughts from the independent flooring community and not just the project manager.

Is this glue-in repair method okay? Should I be pressing for something else?

Thanks for any thoughts!

Long vs. Short Coat

Does anyone have a strong preference?

I had only had short-coat chihuahuas and then adopted my long-haired girl about nine months ago.

I don’t think I necessarily prefer one over the other - but the added grooming and bathing to keep the longer coat looking nice has been an adjustment!

Who needs this little 5 year old gal?

I don’t work for the rescue in question, but I adopted one of my chis from them and had a wonderful experience, so I keep up with the new dogs they get in.

Wren looks and sounds like an amazing little partner if anyone is looking!

LWHA is based in Texas but adopts out nationwide (they will arrange transport for a flat $300!). I live in the PNW and they delivered my little one right to me.

The way she begs for pets 😭

She has my number, that’s for sure!

As usual when I post my baby - a plug for adopting senior pets!

I often see people in this forum asking about where to find chis or saying they have trouble finding them in rescues. My adorable girl was available as a senior (she turned 13 a few weeks after I got her)… don’t overlook that option! Chis live long lives in general so adopting one at 10 or even early teens still gives you years. Plus you get the absolute magic and privilege of giving a dog a soft final chapter.

So many people focus on wanting a puppy or young dog, but seniors have so much love to give. 🤍

These are the angel and devil that sit on your shoulder… guess which is which!

My short-haired chihuahua has been a perfect lady from the start. My long-haired girlie has never allowed anyone a moment’s peace a day in her life.

They are my perfect yin and yang. 😇😈

The girls are ready for their close-ups!

My little ladies are everything! 💛

Monita (long coat) is 13 years old and Raisin (short coat) is 10 years old. They both came to me as rescues and I’m so glad I get to be their person!

I was attempting to order a couple of my favorite discontinued eye shadow pots earlier today and despite having a quantity selection available on the listing page, I received this error message when trying both “Buy it Now” and Apple Pay to purchase.

I was then able to place an order for a single pot.

I messaged the seller because I was very interested in somehow buying multiple, but they were confused and said they don’t have any restrictions for buyers.

Has anyone ever seen this before?

I got a notice today that one of the flights for a trip I have booked in September with Icelandair was changed.

Thankfully, it’s the flight on my way home from a long vacation, so that’s less stressful than the inbound flight at least.

My original flight had me arriving in Keflavik followed by a 4.5 hour layover before boarding my final leg home to the US.

The NEW flight has a ONE hour layover.

I hadn’t picked that flight originally because of concerns with the tight turn and the new Entry/Exit System to get through.

Do I need to be worried?

I haven’t traveled internationally since the EES started so I’m not sure what to expect.

Thanks for any insight!
