I am 50k and will get to 75k this year with a couple of flights in December. I haven’t chosen the 40k and 60k bonus yet, because I wasn’t sure if I was going to need the extra sqc that you can choose in these two tiers.

With 75k I think you can get a head start next year, does it make sense to get the extra 5k sqc? If not, what should I choose? I tend to get eupgrades but they have been pretty useless lately. I guess with 75k will be easier to upgrade?

I have a 2025 dishwasher that is making a humming sound. Not only that, but the arm in the middle and top don’t spray any water.

I have cleaned the filter, checked the impeller, clean the gears that move the bottom arm but it is still not working.

Given the top two arms move by water, I assume the pump is not working? Where is that pump? I assume under the dishwasher?

The dishwasher fills and empties the water.

I currently own an XC90 and a Taycan. I am seriously considering replacing the XC90 with another EV, so when I saw that Volvo had a local event in a mall where you test drive any model I signed up quickly.

They had a small slippery section, a moose test a pothole simulation and speakers to show you how well insulated the car is. I test drove and EX60 Ultra and I really liked it. It drives way better than the XC90, the interior design is amazing and the exterior is well done, except for the boring colours they use. I was interested to see the new forest green, but it looked like another shade of grey with a small hint of green. Long gone are the days of red and bursting blue, sadly.

I was surprised by the size of the steering wheel, as it has been mentioned here before. But even in the moose test, where you have to move the wheel quickly, it performed well.

Overall, I liked it, but I would prefer a more powerful version (p12?).

The only problem is the lease payment. With a Volvo loyalty discount, a 48 months, 16k kms (10k miles) lease is over $1600 CAD with taxes. My XC90 had a $82k price tag and I leased it for less than $1000 CAD taxes included. A Polestar 3, being $10k more expensive, can be leased for less than the EX60. I am even paying less for my Taycan, lol. I understand the car is new and they want to test the market, but no one in their right mind would buy it at this price. Once they realize their mistake and start adding incentives, it will be a great contender to replace the XC90. But they have to hurry up, because BMW and Mercedes are bringing great contenders to the market.

I have a mix of Nest and the usual dumb smoke and CO alarms. The dumb ones expire soon and I am looking to replace them. My house has really high ceilings and I need a smart alarm to be able to silence it from my phone. I don’t need to learn Morse (lol) to know that three chirps mean smoke, two mean CO and one means the battery is low. If possible, I would rather get a hardwired version with a 10 year battery to avoid getting on a ladder to change the batteries.

I love Nest but they don’t make them anymore. The natural path is to buy First Alert SC5 but they have terrible reviews due to false alarms.

I am in Canada and they don’t sell X-sense.

Kiddie has a new smart version, but it uses AA batteries as back up.

Ubiquiti was supposedly launching one this month, so it is delayed, it is not hardwired and they have a reputation of sketchy new product launches.

Owl has an alarm that meets all the requirements and is Apple HomeKit compatible which is definitely a plus, but I have never heard this brand before.

Are there any other options that I am missing?

The technician wanted to install boosters to create a separate Wi-Fi network on each one, while turning off the router’s Wi-Fi.

I explained that the boosters create a mesh network to expand the router’s reach, using the same Wi-Fi, but he seemed confused.

Instead, he connected one booster to the router using an Ethernet cable (which is unnecessary since the booster is 5 centimetres away from the router), and then connected the other booster to another room.

I plan to connect a booster to an Ethernet cable that’a connected directly to the router on the other side of the house, then connect the other to another room.

I understand I don’t need a technician for this, is that correct? Thanks!

Air Canada cancelled my flight and sent me via United. I got way less points than on the other segment of my trip, I guess because I was flying a partner airline.

I have submitted a request to get the same points as the other flight. Is Air Canada going to approve this easily?

I checked the fin number and they did the same as westjet. The changed the plane to a broken one and immediately cancelled it “due to safety reasons”. I am so tired of this BS.
