What do you feed your Turkish Angora after they turn 1? 🐱

My Turkish Angora, Pixie, is turning 1 in 4 days! 🥹 She’s been eating Brit Care kitten kibble + wet food since she was a kitten, but now that she’s officially becoming an adult (and she’s also sterilised), I’m wondering what everyone else feeds their Turkish Angoras.
What dry food + wet food do you recommend for a 1-year-old sterilised Turkish Angora?
Do you switch to a sterilised/adult formula, or continue with regular adult food? I’m especially interested in what your cats actually do well on — good coat, digestion, energy, etc.
Pixie is quite petite and definitely not overweight, so I don’t want to put her on something unnecessarily restrictive just because she’s sterilised.
Would love to hear your recommendations and what your cats eat! ❤️

Visible crow’s feet at 26 – is this normal? Any skincare that actually helps?

I’m 26F and I’m starting to get really noticeable crow’s feet. They’re super visible whenever I smile, but I also have a fine line that’s slightly visible even when my face is completely relaxed.

I wear sunscreen every single day, although I don’t always reapply it throughout the day. I try to take good care of my skin, so I’m honestly surprised to be seeing these lines already.

Has anyone else experienced this in their mid-20s? Did anything actually help? I’m looking for:

Skincare products (retinal/retinol, peptides, eye creams, etc.)
Treatments that are worth the money
Lifestyle changes that made a difference

Whether these lines can actually improve or if I should just focus on preventing them from getting worse
I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences because I’m starting to feel self-conscious about them.

Are fireworks allowed on Nungwi Beach?

My boyfriend’s birthday falls while we’re staying in Nungwi, Zanzibar. Back home it’s our tradition to celebrate at midnight by setting off a few fireworks, and I’d love to surprise him if it’s possible.
Does anyone know if it’s legal for tourists to set off fireworks on or near Nungwi Beach? If so, are there any designated places where it’s allowed?
Also, is it possible to buy consumer fireworks anywhere in Zanzibar, or are they generally not available?
Thanks in advance!

Nungwi or Paje for 12 days in Zanzibar? 🏝️

Hi everyone! My boyfriend and I are traveling to Zanzibar from September 14th to 26th, and we’re trying to decide how to split our stay between Nungwi and Paje.
We’re a couple who loves clear, beautiful water and swimming, and we plan to spend most of our time at the beach. I really enjoy snorkeling 🤿, while my boyfriend is more adventurous and would love to do water sports and other activities.
We’d also like to have some nightlife and a lively atmosphere in the evenings, as we don’t want to get bored.
We’re considering either:
Staying around 3 nights in Paje and the rest in Nungwi
Splitting our stay more or less equally between Paje and Nungwi
My main concern about Paje is the tides. I know the water can go very far out, and I don’t want to spend half of our 12-day trip there if we won’t be able to swim or enjoy the beach properly.
For those who have been to both, what would you recommend for us? Would 3 nights in Paje be enough to experience it, or is it worth spending half of our trip there? And how are the beaches and swimming conditions in mid-September?
Thanks so much! 😊

Am I ignoring red flags, or is my fiancé’s family way too involved in his life?

I (24F) am engaged to my fiancé (24M). I love him and I respect his family. I am not trying to separate him from them, and I don’t expect him to stop being close to them.

My concern is that his family seems to have an enormous amount of influence over his life, and he seems extremely uncomfortable disappointing them, especially his father.

For context, he is the youngest child and the only son. He has three older sisters, all married.

Here are a few examples:

1. He’s afraid of his father’s reaction to things that should be his own business.

My fiancé smokes. His family doesn’t know.

The reason he gives for hiding it isn’t that they would worry about his health. It’s that his father would be furious if he found out.

He doesn’t smoke in front of his parents, sisters, or even his brothers-in-law. At 24 years old, he is still hiding it from the entire family because he’s afraid of his father’s reaction.

2. He acts like he needs permission to leave his own business.

He runs a seasonal business and has employees working there.

Last summer, I asked if we could spend one night at the beach together. He hesitated because his father believes he should stay at the business practically 24/7 during the season.

We ended up taking two one-night trips the entire summer. Two nights total.

When we came back, his father still made negative comments about him leaving.

This summer we went away for one night again, and my fiancé deliberately ignored his father’s calls because he didn’t want his father to find out he had left the business for a single day.

Honestly, that doesn’t sound like a normal adult parent-child relationship to me.

3. His father expects him to spend his savings on his parents’ house.

His parents have a large house that they want to modernize.

Not repair. Not save from falling apart. Modernize.

His father told him he should renovate half the house because “it’s his house too.”

I thought he was joking.

Then my fiancé told me that as soon as he saved enough money, he wanted to use basically all of his first major savings to renovate his parents’ house.

Meanwhile, we live in a rented apartment in the capital city. We pay rent every month and are trying to save to buy a home of our own.

His parents know this.

They know we’re renting. They know we’re trying to build our future.

If they needed financial help or couldn’t afford necessary repairs, I’d understand completely.

But the house is perfectly fine. The renovation is purely cosmetic. They simply want a more modern house.

I don’t have a problem with him helping his parents financially. I do have a problem with the expectation that a 24-year-old man who is paying rent and trying to buy his own home should use his first major savings to upgrade his parents’ house.

4. He struggles to set boundaries with his family.

Last year I had a misunderstanding with one of his sisters.

He found it very difficult to stand up for our relationship or establish boundaries because he was clearly uncomfortable upsetting his family.

I’ve also noticed that every plan, goal, and decision gets discussed with his parents, his sisters, and their husbands. Everyone gives opinions, and those opinions often influence or change his decisions.

The pattern I keep seeing is that he seems more afraid of disappointing his family than he is concerned about what he actually wants.

I don’t want him to cut off his family. That’s not what I’m asking.

But I am worried about marrying someone who still seems afraid of his father’s disapproval, struggles to set boundaries, and appears willing to prioritize his family’s wishes—even financially—over building a future with his future wife.

Am I overreacting, or are these legitimate concerns?
