Aventure 3 e-wheel lock failure

Hey sub! 👋🏽 I bought my Aventure 3 in December and the e-wheel lock has already failed (error code W109). Luckily Aventon shipped the replacement part under warranty, but I’m shocked the part is so cheap at $20. It doesn’t inspire much confidence in its reliability. Any other folks have theirs fail so soon? Is this something I should prepare to replace once a year? In some ways I’m relieved it did its job (and it failed at my house, thank glob), but since the lock failed in place, the bike is heavy, and I’m without a vehicle, I have to learn to fix it myself. Which I’m also seeing as a net positive haha.

This is my first e-bike so I’m just a little surprised. Moving forward I’ll likely only engage the lock if I’m parked in a sus area.

Aetherion Max: problem or normal?

I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. Despite the incredible quality and low-light performance of the Max compared to my previous UST (NexiGo Aurora Pro (Gen 1)) the Max sometimes displays a subtle flicker / horizontal lines when transitioning from dark to light scenes. My Aurora Pro handled these instances much better. I thought it was tied to my HDMI cable or picture settings, but it also happens sometimes when I’m navigating the built in settings menus. Video attached - look at the sky appearing after a dark scene. Any insight is appreciated 🙏🏽 https://photos.icloud.com/shared/album/09bpALc\_WhXnEnVXJ1\_OzYDsA

R2 Test Drive in Chicago

Test drove the R2 in Chicago today! Sorry if you were the 3pm appointment…I came back at 3:01 😅 I’ll share more on YT in the coming days, but here are some of my high and lowlights:

Soooo the audio system... I’m coming from a 25 speaker 1600 watt Bowers & Wilkins system in the Polestar 3. Before that I had a 14 speaker Meridian system in the Kia EV9. The R2 is better than the Meridian system, but (obviously) nowhere near as good as B&W. I’d rate it a solid 6.5/10, mayyyybe a 7. It gets plenty loud, but a little muddy at higher volume. I also wish the bass was just a little punchier, but it’s enough imo. I had low expectations from folks saying it’s awful…I think it’s far from awful.

The cooled seats are 10/10. Some reviewers are saying they’re extremely loud but that’s a stretch to me. I had walked over a mile from Millenium station to Rivian with two bags and a large suitcase so I was a sweat puddle by the time I arrived. Seats cooled me down quickly. (Once again, sorry 3pm guy.)

The AC also kept me plenty cool. I didn’t see on the screen how to adjust the vents’ direction other than a button for up, toward you, and feet, but I kept it on auto and it did what AC is supposed to do.

Suspension in the soft setting is sooo comfy. Switching to sport eliminates soft and only allows moderate and firm ride feel. Even on moderate the ride felt plush and forgiving. Chicago potholes are ruthless but the ride remained smooth on the 21” wheels.

Even in sport mode, the accelerator requires quite a push down to punch it…maybe 1.5” of travel more than I’d expect? I don’t mind it - it makes for smoother takeoffs. It was just a surprise the first time I tried to race someone at a light.

My excitement for the Haptic Halo wheels dissipated during this drive, sadly. 70% of the time trying to push / pull them I spun them on accident. Push / pull requires too much force for a single finger. Using my entire palm to push / multiple fingers to pull seems to help, but it just feels awkward. I hope they can improve the sensitivity there via OTA. Scrolling is tactile and satisfying, however.

My flight is taking off so that’s all for now. I think sharing my YT handle here breaks forum rules so feel free to DM if you want it 🥰

Free adapters and mobile charger

Any ideas why only these specific states + DC receive them for free?
