How did you get your "common name," or the name you go by in day-to-day life?

Some people (like me) go by their legal name. Some people go by a diminutive of their legal name, like Katie instead of Katherine or Tom instead of Thomas. Some people go by their middle name, and some people go by a name completely unrelated to their given name(s).

So I'm curious how you decided what name to go by? My family always called me by my diminutive name until I got to kindergarten and decided I liked my full name better. Some of my family continued to call me by my diminutive name until my cousin married someone with the same name and we needed a way to distinguish us.

Everyone insists he's ready. It's been two days -- do I need to give it more time or is he not actually ready?

TL;DR - venting about potty training. Commiseration and advice welcome.

---

It hasn't even been a month since his second birthday, and daycare insists he's ready to potty train. They even said it would be easy because he doesn't like being dirty. We have had several instances of him going pee and poop on the potty. But we have never put him in anything other than diapers until this weekend. So per daycare's recommendation, we have been putting him in only big boy underwear all weekend (no pull-ups or training pants or anything like that), except for overnights & naps. We're also planning on following their reward scheme, in which the child gets 1 M&M for a successful pee and 2 for a successful poop. I'm unclear on what to do if he has an accident, as a result we put him on the potty, and then he pees in the potty.

We go through underwear like a doctor goes through gloves. In the five hours today between his nap and when we started getting him ready for bed (and switching back to diaper) we went through almost a dozen pairs. He pees every 5-15 minutes. And not once requests to use the potty. There was exactly one time today when we went to the potty and his underwear was dry, and that was because I insisted he try, and then he peed himself as soon as we went back downstairs.

So I mostly needed to vent, but I also need advice for methods to try potty training, as well as whether we should even keep trying right now. At this point I'm looking forward to tomorrow, partly because potty training will be on them for 8 hours, and partly because I want them to eat their words. They gave us a written potty training policy that states we should send him with six pairs of underwear and six pairs of pants/shorts … HAH he'll go through that before naptime.

Why do my husband's feet do this? How can I prevent it?

This is the third set of sheets his feet have ruined. Somehow his feet cause the fabric of our fitted sheet to thin and eventually tear. What is happening. Does he need to trim his toenails or exfoliate his feet or something?? This never happens on my side of the bed.

There's not enough space to sew this piece on? At least if I'm counting my rounds correctly

I would consider myself advanced beginner. I've done several Woobles kits, a non-Woobles amigurumi, and a couple baby blankets. All that to say when I started this kit in February I downloaded the pattern and threw away or lost the code thinking I wouldn't need the videos.

Well now I'm trying to attach the upper lip. It says to attach between rounds 9 and 10. Fine. But the eyes go between rounds 8 and 9 and they're HUGE. Even if I could squeeze my tapestry needle up between the eye and the plushie

I must make this! Does anyone know where I can find the pattern?

One of my friends posted this in our group chat and now I need the pattern. I found this on Ravelry that's close, but I really like how "normal" it looks in the meme before putting a glass on it, and the pattern seems to only have it in the "AAH!" position.
