Cloud conditions tonight for Perseid ?

Hi , I am a socal resident heading out to JT tonight to catch the stars , is the cloud situation really bad or is it possible to see stars? Thinking of skipping the park and driving past twentynine palms for darker skies

PASSED NCLEX AT 150 !!!

I genuinely walked out of that exam after 4 hours of self doubt, sat in my car for an hour in silence just thinking i’ve failed.

I had a lot of OB case studies, out of my 7 case studies with 6 questions each, 4 of them were OB , and paired with OB bowties and OB single studies. It was rough….

I made sure to continue answering with the safest option! I used Kaplan and Bootcamp, but what saved me was Mark Klimeks Audio Lecture 12, prioritization and delegation. That was GOLD!!!!!!! I wrote everything he said on my white board during the exam and used it for every SINGLE question. It was amazing.

I was completely stressed, i saw meds ive never heard of in my life, disease processes that ive never seen, it was tough, but also it was a ton of safety related things as well.

Passed NCLEX at 150 first time!

Hey guys! Just posting for some inspiration and to help soothe thoughts of those who do hit 150 questions !! I felt like I completely failed that exam, had 6 case studies (6questions each) a lot of prioritization, 6-10 single case studies and like 30+ SATAS , my exam focused a lot on OB/PEDS my weakness but I just maintained safety the entire exam. For those who are stressed about passing at 150, it is definitely possible and I feel like those who completely think they have failed, typically pass because the exam becomes harder as you progress thru questions.

Big tools i used were kaplan and mark klimek lectures! I also used bootcamp but honestly what helped me most was mark klimek OB and prioritization lecture!!! Good luck to you all, you can do it !!

I took my nclex yesterday and literally think i failed

Hi Everyone,

I took my nclex yesterday, went to 150 questions. After 85 i felt kind of bummed out the more it kept going up i just accepted having to do the full 150. I got like 5-6 case studies with the 6 questions. A long of single case studies, like 15-20 SATAS maybw more honestly , lots of prioritization, even some healthcare management stuff. I felt like i was guessing between two questions majority of the exam. On the case studies i did notice i was getting a good amount right bc it would indirectly confirm the answer the next question. But no seriously i think i failed and as much as im disappointed i feel like im accepting any outcome and honestly just grateful for the experience of taking the exam.

Wishing for the best still though, anyone have any experiences with nclex?

I REALLY MADE IT !!!!

HI EVERYONE!!!!

I really did it !!!!!! It is surreal to know I passed my final exam with a 90% and kept a good grade in my final critical care course !!! I am absolutely so happy and it has been such a long, difficult, emotional journey the last two years. I remember reading my acceptance letter summer of 2024 and all the hard work I put into pre-reqs, it finally paid off. I appreciate this subreddit for all the advice and feedback I have gotten over the years for study habits. I went from having a below 2.0 gpa in undergrad to finishing my ADN with a 3.5 !

I also got accepted into a Cal State for their RN-BSN program! I start this fall, I cant believe it!!!!

Some words of advice going towards pre-nursing students and current nursing students:

- Self care is absolutely so important, learn what works for you, how you like to settle down and recharge after long exam study sessions or clinicals.

- You must be okay with making mistakes, you learn from them, what separates good students from other students, good nurses from other nurses are that they are able to handle making a mistake and owning up to it themselves, it goes a long way.

- Don’t get too caught up in the grade comparisons, I know students who did undergrad were very used to comparing grades after exams, in nursing school that should not matter, it just causes unecessary anxiety for others, focus on yourself.

- There is a light at the end of the tunnel, trust me when I say this, I have struggled the last 6 months, life throw me many curveballs, I had people in my life I thought would be there forever , who are not there for me anymore, things happen for a reason and your main priority should be your education, no one, no thing, should get in the way of your success. Things may be difficult, it may be hard to see the end, but it is there, and you will feel a weight off your shoulders in due time.

i broke 8 months of no contact

we were together 2 years, the second year things went downhill, i was busy with nursing school though i did my best to see her every week, she dealt with depression untreated and she nearly broke it off three times due to bad coping mechanisms. The final time was my last straw and I ended it the next day after she reversed her decision to end it. That was in October.

8 months of no contact, I made new friends, picked up new hobbies, did some traveling, im about to graduate nursing school and the day of my graduation photos, i called her that night, this last friday. I had a mix of emotions, she supported me before i started my nursing program, thru most of it and is not present anymore.

I was also triggered to call her because i saw her post a selfie that got a couple thousand likes. I dont know why i randomly decided to check her socials. The call went ok, she apologized for all the push pull dynamic she put me through especially towards the end, but i didnt recognize her or her voice. I apologized for my studies taking up a lot of time, and im sure i made some mistakes too.

She seemed so different and im pretty sure it was clear she was over it by now, she opened up the opportunity to maybe meet at a cafe sometime as friends but i dont know if im open to it. She said that she struggled the month i ended it but then it went out of sight out of mind pretty quickly after, shes fearful avoidant. I know we are different paths, im in the medical field and she has no real goals or career theyre working towards, but it just sucks.

I dont feel better nor do i feel worse, but i think the call made me miss her more. I dont know what to do…
