My (61F) partner (55M) of 10+ years has been laid off since November. He continues to make the regular house hold contributions that he always has, except for his portion of a loan in my name i took out for a new roof. I’m successful in my field with a job I love. He’s interviewed many times without luck, I’m afraid he may have a negative attitude towards his former employers while interviewing with potential new employers. He won’t consider a job for less than he made before. He has done nothing during this unemployment period. I’m not going to suggest he do anything, but FFS, clean the garage, do some yard work, clean out your closet! I’m tired of the tv on, volume on the phone turned up while he watches videos, and finding him in the same spot on the couch I left him in when I come home from weekend yoga. I’m not his mother, I’m not going to nag. He does make dinner if that’s one positive thing I can mention. Just venting. Hes’s 5 years younger that me and should have more ambition. If it were me, I’d at a minimum be waitressing or SOMETHING!

Does anyone else struggle with spending $$ on new clothes? I make 6 figures and still thrift most of my work clothes. There’s no reason for me not to spend $100 or more on trousers or shoes, I need to get over being so cheap!
