Things are looking good recently

Don’t know if this is the right place to make a post like this but I have no where else to share my celebration. I’m turning 30 in a week and for all my life I’ve just been wasting all my money living pay check to pay check not thinking about the future.

But 6 months ago I became a father to a girl and I realised something had to change.

Now 6 months later I’ve got a couple thousand in my savings + managed to get a couple thousand in the stock market. Also I’ve landed a new job which increases my income significantly. So I can put more money in my portfolio.

All in hope to give my beautiful daughter a great future.

Good luck to all of you!

World value ETF for growth instead of a normal world ETF? Thoughts?

I’ve been investing in 10 different individual stocks but, I want to add an ETF or a mix of ETF’s to my portfolio.

With in mind that I mostly go for growth for the mid to long term I’m thinking of either WEBN or a world value ETF like IS3S. Or a 60/40 split between the two.

I’d love to hear some of y’all thoughts on what I could do.

Many thanks!

Is there a case that going for an all world value or momentum ETF is better then going for a traditional all world ETF.

I’m just wondering, since I’m still learning. If my risk appetite is higher than average because I’m young, still living at home, have a good income and a decent emergency fund, wouldn’t it make more sense to go for something like momentum or value instead of just slow and steady growth?

Sometimes it feels like people on here treat anything other than a broad-market ETF like a sin
I’m not saying I want to gamble my money, I’m just curious about other types of ETFs and whether they could make more sense for someone in my situation.

What do you guys think?

I need some advice on a +-5 year plan.

Let’s say I would most likely need the money in 5 years. But next to investing I’m also saving cash every month what would be the right approach?

If you have a time span of approximately 5 years is an all world wtf or the S&P 500 still the way to go? Or should I take more risk and invest in more riskier volatile stocks?

Just to say I’m not that concerned about volatility as I have low expenses and some savings.

What sector ETF’s are you guys in?

Besides my boring All-World ETF that I’m investing in every month for retirement, I’d like to take on a bit more risk.

I’m thinking about adding 1 or 2 individual stocks and one sector ETF, which I’ll keep DCA’ing into for the next 5–10 years.

My question is: which sector ETFs are you guys invested in, and what’s your reasoning behind them? Curious to hear your thoughts.

One final fight at 30 years old

Here we go boys, one last dance.

I recently became a father, so I’ve been sleep deprived, stressed out, and have trained way less than I usually do in camp.

And now, in two weeks, I’m fighting a young brawler who has been fighting every month, while I’ve been out for a year.

But fuck it, it’s going to be my 10th and final fight, and I’m ready to go out with a bang.

A 5 to 10 years portfolio next to my investment portfolio. Any advice?

I invest €150 monthly in a mutual fund that tracks the MSCI World, MSCI Emerging Markets, and MSCI World Small Cap. This is for retirement so I will be investing for the next 30 years

But I want to build a portfolio for the next 5 to 10 years any advice on what is the best approach? Individual stocks? ETF’s? what to do?

Started investing 3 months ago and everything feels insane

I’m 30 years old and only started investing around 3 months ago. Right now I’m mainly buying an All World ETF every month for the long term and retirement.

Lately I’ve been thinking about also putting some money into individual stocks through DCA, mostly bigger companies, and maybe a few sector ETFs that I believe in long term.

The thing is, the market right now makes me hesitant. Everything just seems to keep hitting ATHs and it feels like the moment I finally have a decent amount invested, the market will drop hard.

Curious what other people are doing. Are you guys just continuing to invest no matter what, or waiting a bit before putting more money in?

Diversifying more and taking more risk

I’m currently investing monthly into a passive global index fund portfolio.
The portfolio tracks:

the MSCI World Index (developed markets)
MSCI Emerging Markets
and MSCI World Small Cap

I’m current looking to get into some sector ETF’s to grow my portfolio. The one I have my eye on to dca in monthly is WNUC

Does anyone have any more suggestions for me to look into?

My Investing strategy, any advice?

So I’m almost 30 and realized I should probably start investing. My plan is to invest:

€150 per month into an All-World ETF

€100 per month into a global small-cap ETF like iShares
MSCI World Small Cap UCITS ETF (WSML)

This is mainly for the mid to long term (10–20 years).
I already have a retirement plan through my employer, so this is more for building extra wealth and potentially retiring earlier or more comfortably.

Besides investing, I’m also saving €200 cash every month.

And just to be a bit speculative, I’m putting €50 a month into Bitcoin with the intention of selling if/when it reaches a new all-time high.
I’m willing to take some risk, but my main goal is long-term financial growth rather than gambling or chasing quick profits.
What do you guys think of this plan?

I’m turning 30 in a few weeks, and recently I’ve really started thinking about my finances. I’ve begun investing monthly, mostly in an all-world ETF.

It got me curious about success stories from people who started investing around my age and are now financially well off.

I’m eager to read about them!
