Nixihost for Local Brand

I am taking on a project for a local brand and I was thinking of purchasing the domain through Nixihost and hosting through there. I don’t think there will be too much traffic, maybe 500 monthly total. Would it be a good idea to purchase the domain and hosting through Nixihost, then develop the website using Wordpress? Would it be relatively secure and remain up? I am not looking for a VPS.

Monthly Budget: $20
Location: California
Kind of site: I am looking into hosting a site for a local brand and will likely use Wordpress.

Looking for decent machine at $400 USD

I have been needing a new laptop for a while. Unfortunately, my previous laptop suffered some technical issues and ability to boot is essentially fried. I think it’s finally time to look into a Thinkpad. I heard they tend to be reliable and also great used. I would mainly be using it for programming in stuff like Python or C++ along with casual word processing and web browsing. I plan to install Fedora or Arch onto the system as well. Right now, I’m looking at T14 Gen 3 but other recommendations, even for other laptops, are appreciated.

Tl;DR

  1. Around $400 USD, but willing to go up to $500
  2. Programming in C++, Web development, General use
  3. Looking for a six-core processor, 16GB RAM, and a 512-1TB SSD

Considering Switching from Bitwarden

I have used Bitwarden for a very long time, since LastPass got breached way back in 2022. It has been really useful but recently I have decided to renovate my threat model. One thing that has definitely left a bad taste in my mouth is the new Bitwarden CEO. I got SimpleLogin Premium so I'm pretty much paying for Proton Pass plus. I already pay for Proton Mail Plus and one thing I am interested in specifically is how well SimpleLogin integrates into Proton Pass. Does anyone have any thoughts on this or suggestions?

INIU P50 No Longer Charging Devices

I recently got an INIU P50 and it has been great, easy to put in my pocket and charges fast, until today. For some reason, when I try to charge with it now, I get a very low and unstable voltage, like it’s blinking in and out. I have tried hard resetting with the usb-c cable and it didn’t work. Is there anything else I should try and should I get a replacement or refund and buy an Anker Zolo?

Considering moving from iPhone 13; $400 USD Budget

I have been getting pretty tired of my iPhone 13's battery life. It is at around 80% capacity, but I feel like even if it was brand new, it still dies pretty fast. Everytime I go out the house I feel like I'm coming back home with <20% battery life or need to ask for a charger. I was thinking of buying a power bank, but I feel like I should just upgrade soon because it only has around 1-2 years of support left. Either way, it also feels like I have been missing out, I was shocked to find out that 4000-5000mAh is basically the new standard.

What I'm looking for

  • ESIM is preferred, but not a deal breaker
  • Face ID/Fingerprint reader
  • NFC to use Google wallet
  • Good camera for day and night (At least on par with iPhone 13)
  • Long battery life
  • Smooth performance (Usually only listen to music, take pictures, or text; I don't do gaming but the option would be nice)
  • A couple of years of software support
  • Ability to increase privacy preferred

Should I upgrade from an iPhone 13 to a Oneplus Nord 5?

I’ve been getting tired of my phone battery as of late. It feels like every time I go out, I either have to ration my phone battery or constantly ask for a charger. I might just get a power bank to alleviate the issue, but I will probably stop seeing support in a year or two so I’m thinking I might as well look into a new phone.

I used to use android years ago but I remember the experience being sluggish and slow. Right now I’m looking at the Oneplus Nord 5, it seems fast and has double the battery capacity. It looks so much more modern than my current phone and now I feel like iOS is behind the times. I am looking to spend only around $400 and I rather buy the Nord than an iPhone 15 that’s more expensive with less features.
