you’ve probably seen quite a few of my posts by now, sorry about that 😅
If you haven’t, this is my first time making a cosplay myself and I have just over a month to finish this. Is there a way to help with the brush strokes? I’m using flex paint.
Would fixing it take a long time? Is it not worth it, since im not entering any competitions and it’s only for fun?
Another thing, is there a way I can paint it faster? As I’ve said, im on quite a time crunch and it’s taken me a day and a bit to get to this point because of the sheer amount of thin layers needed

Making my first set of armour ever. Using flexipaint to paint this bracer, it worked perfectly on scrap foam, but it’s streaky and chunky on here. I don’t have the time to re cut and glue everything to make a new bracer. Yes I watered down the paint. No I didn’t use primer, because flexupaint is advertised to not need it. Yes I heat sealed the foam beforehand. What do I do?

I got the PERFECT water to flexipaint ratio… then forgot about it for a few days :( can I revive it or is it just really not worth it

I’m completely new to foamsmithing, and im making armour for Kris from Deltarune. I have made tiny finger pieces (following this pattern https://www.kamuicosplay.com/product/dragonarmorclaw/) however im stuck on how to paint them. The con is in mid-November, so I have just less than 50 days. I’ve bought silver flexi-paint and a gloss top coat from the same brand, but after painting a test piece of foam, it didn’t cover the whole thing despite maybe 10 or more layers (albeit watered down a tiny bit because that’s what I was told to do), and it took hours total because I had to wait for each layer to dry. I foolishly chose to get black EVA foam, so I have to try even harder to get the paint to cover all the black. I also don’t know how to store the 28 little finger pieces while they dry without smudging the paint

Sorry that turned into a bit of a rant.

TLDR im on a time crunch and flexi paint isn’t giving me proper coverage despite a ton of layers and im wondering if i should switch to another method of painting which is faster, but if so, what?

uh yeah you saw the title and yes this is kamui cosplay’s pattern and yes I’ve checked all the files and I can’t find anything that says how she attached it to her shoulder… I was thinking of wide elastic going from underneath and hooking under the armpit but I feel like it would still slip

the issue with the character (asriel dreemur) having white fur is I feel like I can’t make it super super bright or anything because white can only be so white.. i’ve tried adding the shadows like in the reference, but it looks HORRENDOUS (as seen in the second photo)

I’m thinking about trying to make a cosplay for the first time, and this includes making EVA foam armour.
My main inspiration is @hallowcosr on Instagram, and I’m looking to create something similar (but not exact, of course) to their interpretation of Kris Dreemurr
I plan to draw up a detailed concept before going into it, but my issue is I have never worked with EVA foam.

What do I need to know before starting?

i have never collected trading cards before, but i love mlpfim and saw a pack of these and decided to grab em since they were cheap and it was the last pack. this one’s especially pretty, and usually the pretty ones are rare as far as i know. it’s in perfect condition fresh out the pack

I also often can’t find a reference I’m looking for.. I’ve even tried posing 3d models on my own but I always end up giving up and making it up as I go

images not super related (I didn’t use a ref for any of them though (I strongly dislike the third one and the fourth is mid)) and are mostly there for attention grabbing

The short one is slightly grey, and neither of them fit on my head properly 😭 (i have a lot of hair) but I at least want to make something out of them for xp

1st slide - wig
2nd slide - ref (other cosplayers did what i did for the fringe which is why i did that but I might change it)
3rd slide - my last attempt at a megumi wig (like a month ago), i wanted it slightly longer at the time but i changed my mind and got a second shorter wig
4th slide: final cosplay hope

does this look ok for a Megumi wig? please be nice 😭 Can’t make it too spiky cause im gonna be wearing a huge headband (holding up mahoraga’s wheel (don’t come at me for not doing a lacefront wig for meguna i just don’t want to))
will i be recognisable enough wearing a white sleeveless gi and a huge gold wheel

I was going for s3 megumi as opposed to s1 megumi since s3 looks better and has shorter, nicer looking spikes (so again don’t come at me for the spikes being too short)

worried my wig is looks like flins from genshin impact because i was playing genshin the whole time i was styling 💔

this is my friend’s oc, I didn’t use a reference except for the ruffles and I’ve been staring at it so long I’m blind to any imperfections, please help 😭

I tried crimping this Miku wig to stop it from knotting but a) it was my first time crimping and b) it still gets kind of knotty? WAY easier to brush out than before crimping and it’s also way thicker which is what i was going for but im worried I fried the ends

basically im asking: does it look ok and if not how do i fix it?
