Has anyone needed to cancel a Southwest booking that was part of the Chase $500 Southwest credit? Curious to know if you lose the credit or can rebook and get it again.

Just confirming correct use for Edit/Southwest
Making hotel and southwest reservation under one event, using 41k points and paying $750. I should get both the southwest $500 credit and $250 edit credit back, correct? Hotel is for two nights.
