What to do

TW: miscarriage, pregnancy loss

Hey everyone. This is probably a different kind of post than we’re all used to seeing but I recently found out some devastating news about my very early pregnancy.

My husband and I decided to keep the initial happy news of the thousand positive pregnancy tests on a strict need to know basis - so my best friend and her husband, who happens to be a very close friend of my husband, my immediate circle at work, my husbands boss/ best friend, and the Burn trainers. In fact, the burn trainers knew before my husband (by about 24 hours lol)

A week ago at our first prenatal appointment, we found out it’s likely a missed miscarriage and we have been in limbo since then waiting for the next ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis. I’ve been a mess and so has my husband but he processes stuff like this way differently than I do and he’s been so wonderful. I’ve been going about life pretending that I’m still pregnant because honestly I can barely bring myself to even say the words out loud about the likely outcome.

I guess what I’m trying to ask is, for those of you who have been through something similar, when/how did you tell your trainers? I’m considering sending my location an Instagram DM to let them know to remove the “pregnancy” note from my profile because I know if I tell them in person ill absolutely lose it and probably just got home. Thanks for any advice 💙💙

Jumping for joy!!!!

Saw the faintest line yesterday morning (bottom HCG test strip). Took FOUR more tests and first response this afternoon (yea yea morning pee and all that) and that line showed up real fast and real dark. Husband comes home in a little bit and I’m finally going to tell him. It’s been the hardest secret to keep.

Videographer!!

Hello all!

Just wanted to pop on here and reassure those of you on the fence about hiring a videographer (or even just having someone with a tripod/steady hand record the important moments): do it. We just got our trailer video and full wedding day edit (45 minutes!!) from our videographer and omg it was truly amazing/beautiful/heartwarming to watch everything from our day. I didn’t let loose until well into the reception since I wanted to make sure I remembered the ceremony itself and everything leading up to it but I was still so caught up in the moment that a lot of details weren’t noticed. Having a full day edit showcasing everything was the best investment we could have made. Both husband and I were tearing up watching it back. All that to say: you will not regret a videographer, or even a camcorder set up to record the important bits - you’d be surprised how fast the day goes and how much you just don’t remember after the fact ❤️❤️

My time has come….

Edit: oh my god I posted this not realizing how much attention it would get. You guys are absolutely sending me this morning. FWIW I’ve been a long time customer at this particular nail salon so when I go back, I’ll be sure I ask for a different nail tech. And, honestly, might just go back to plain old gel nails so I can have my main girl do them.

Yall. After 3 years of going to the same nail salon, it finally happened. I got done dirty and I tried my damnedest to speak up. I have relatively short, slightly squatty fingers so I always go for a more rounded, oval-y shape. Well, today, it must have been m my time. I GOT CHICLETTE FRANKENSTEIN SHAPED NAILS AND I HATE THEM. Yes, they are my natural nails. And yes, they are shorter than normal because 1. I’m trying to go a little bit longer between appointments and my nails are growing like crazy and are hitting my phone screen and driving me nuts and 2. More importantly, I’ve started playing piano again and I absolutely cannot stand the sound of my nails clacking on the piano keys. Plz tell me they aren’t that bad 😭😭 I know they’ll eventually grow out but I can’t stop staring at how ridiculous they look. Also, my middle finger (pictured) is clearly crooked/slanted af and I swear I tried to ask her to fix it.

Reunited with my childhood piano

Husband and I just recently closed on our house and two big non-negotiables for us were 1. A dining room big enough for a custom dining table 2. A room big enough for my childhood grand piano that had been collecting dust at my parents house for the last 15 years. The house we found checked every box.

Piano movers delivered the grand piano on Friday and I could have cried tears of happiness to finally be reunited with the one thing that provided so much creative relief and comfort.

It’s out of tune pretty bad but have a piano tuner scheduled in about a week. Maybe some day I’ll work up the courage to record and post to this group. In the meantime, I’m LOVING all the videos of fellow piano players on here ❤️❤️
