Tap or faucet

I find it fascinating how Americans use different words than us English, for the same items.

A bonnet is a hood, boot is a trunk and a tap is a faucet.

So I hear the phrase “tap that ass” from Americans all the time. As an English man, I assume they mean the ass is much tighter, so they must faucet in.

S861 display issues.

Hi. My dad has an e-bike. I’m not overly familiar with them. But he needed a new display. It was a s861 display. I purchased him a replacement from AliExpress and it’s giving him the E10 error. From looking around it seems like it’s a communication error. It’s a UART protocol 2 I believe. He’s not sure if the original is the same. The bike is a powerhog brand. The controller look exactly the same and I can only seem to find protocol 2 when looking at replacement screens. Can anyone offer some advice as to where I’m going wrong here? He’s entered the correct parameters in the settings as far as I know.

Continuous audio turning itself on

Does anyone else have the same issue? On occasion I’ll turn my tv on and the atmos sign will show up and continuous audio is essentially on, even though in settings it’s off. I have to go into settings again and toggle it on, then off again.

Beelink ser5 5500u

Hi. Hopefully can get some clarification on my issue. I bought this mini pc to replace a big desktop who’s only function is sharing my files over my home network (I do photography etc) I also copy from hard drives and ssd’s directly via usb ports.

The image and description suggests the front 2 usb ports and the rear lower port is usb3.2 gen 2. However I’m not seeing consistent speeds from these ports.

Using the same internal hard drive and the same external, I’ve copied the same file over to see what speeds I was achieving.

The usbc port does about 170MB/s
Front usb A closest to the usbc 230MB/s
Rear bottom usb a 40MB/s
Rear top about 30MBs however that is listed as usb 2.0.

I realise my spinning 3.5 drives should be the bottle neck here. However using the same drive and copying the same files shows vastly inconsistent speeds.

Is this common or am I doing/being stupid here?

Thanks in advance.

Anyone help?

I’ve been watching some high quality rips of game of thrones via plex the past few weeks without issue. Today for some reason the app will crash and I get this lovely multi coloured screen. Has anyone experienced this? I’ll post in the plex sub too as I’m sure it’s a plex issue. Just wondered if anyone has come across it?

Hi. I’m hoping someone here might be able to advise me.

First off my setup is just JBOD for local files. I have 2 caddy’s, a 4 bay and a 3 bay. I’m sharing over my network via a beelink mini pc. It’s been great so far but today I decided to test the port speeds. I get a much faster transfer rate from the one usb c port on the front of the beelink mini pc.

I’m wondering if I can share that port via a usb c hub, but I’m not sure if this would need to be a powered one or not?

I previously had a powered hub that was honestly not great. So I resorted to plugging directly into the mini pc. However it ate up all of the available usb slots.

Any help appreciated or recommendations for a good reliable hub. Thanks.
