Spell Theory

After looking over the discourse on the ending scene of the movie, I would say that the spell erased the memory of Peter from everyone’s mind, but still left small fragments behind. In the case of Ned, I believe he has no idea who Peter is as a person throughout the story, but still has some minor recollections of their bond, such as the handshake (the muscle memory of how to do it most likely stuck with him through the spell, even though he forgot who he learned it with),the familiarity of him, MJ,and Peter talking with one another (“You two don’t know each other?”), and his obsession with Spider-Man.

While Ned probably didn’t remember who Peter was in the final scene, I do believe he was able to connect the dots on the role Peter used to have in his life, and fill some of the gaps that may have been present in his head. After the handshake, I thought that Ned was able to discover why he felt the way he did about Spider-Man (I could be wrong, but I always interpret Ned’s constant search of Spider-Man’s identity as a way of figuring out why he is so emotionally drawn to him without ever having met), and use their interactions throughout the film, to associate Peter with the strong kingship he knew he once had with someone, and MJ’s accidental use of Peter as a way to connect that to Spider-Man, as he may recall that he once knew who he was.

I’m sorry for writing so much; I was thinking about this earlier today, and it is a pretty interesting plot point. Essentially, I am trying to say that Ned remembers having a strong relationship with Spider-Man, and/or the person behind the mask, but doesn’t know it’s Peter.

Spider-Man Unlimited Error

I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I recently just redownloaded the Spider-Man Unlimited game on my IPhone, and for some reason, the game doesn’t fully work. While the first few levels of the story mode functioned normally, once I reached a stage that required for the team to have an additional Spider-Man, the game completely froze, and didn’t allow for me to use a standard recruitment pack. Is there anything I can to do fix this, or is the game just too old?

FRQ Length

Hi Everyone,

When taking timed exams with essay sections that incorporate essay sections, I often find that I write way to much for my essays, often causing me to run out of time, or rush my writing (while working on practice frq's in class, I wrote about 1,200 words for my synthesis and rhetorical analysis essays, with about 200-300 per paragraph). For the exam tomorrow morning, is there a certain word count or limit I should aim for on the exam, in order to avoid running out of time, or spending too much time of it on an individual essay? Thank you!

Hi Everyone,

With the AP English Language exam coming up soon, we have been doing several practice FRQs in this last week; would anyone be able to read over, the synthesis essay I just finished, and see if there is anything I may need to alter or improve? I plan to speak with my teacher, but would greatly appreciate an outside point of view. Thank you!
