Got my green belt!

Finally hit 1000! Both over the board and online

Although I’ve been playing casually for 30 years, I started playing more seriously and going to chess club and tournaments about 3 years ago.

I know I’ve progressed a lot slower than most people but I’m still very proud of my self. I’ve gained a stable hobby, met good friends and reduced my doom scrolling by at least a little bit!

Just wanted to say thanks to the community and encourage anyone who’s hit the wall to keep going!

Wife didn’t come home last night because of work

Firstly, I have zero suspicion that she was cheating on me.

My wife recently got promoted to upper management at a big box store and today was their annual inventory check. As the asset protection manager, it’s the biggest and most stressful day of the year for her so I understand why she decided to make the choice to stay overnight, completing everything she possibly could. I also understand that she feels her coworkers are unreliable and have really fallen short of expectations so far, leaving her to believe that she’s the only person who will do the job correctly.

That said, I absolutely hate that she made that decision. I hate knowing that she’s working 36 hours straight. I hate the strain she’s putting on herself. I hate that she will not draw a boundary between work and the rest of her life.

I feel helpless to convince her to change her behaviors or to actively support her to make things easier. I took her to dinner last night but when I came back 2 hours later to pick her up, she reduced to even take a break and told me to stop harassing her when I asked her to step outside for some ai.

All night and into the morning, she didn’t answer my phone calls or text messages. I left her a bag of fresh clothes and a drink with one of her coworkers before I went to work myself but she didn’t confirm that she received it.

I’m just so worried about her. I’m also afraid that if I voice my concerns, it’ll come out as scolding her or something negative which is the last thing I want to do to her.
