Entering the world of 2 under 2 in three months, and I keep seeing people talk about how hard it is. I'd love to hear from people who didn't have a terrible time!

I know it won't be easy, but the posts about "years of being in survival mode" have me scared.

Discouraged

I'm having a hard time lately. For context, I'm a 6th year. I'm a bit of a specialist in my group and regularly run matters. I have also handled hearings, arbitrations, and negotiations solo. I feel pretty good about that work.

Lately, though, I've been trying to become more well-rounded and taking on cases outside of my normal practice area. My substantive knowledge is not all there simply because I'm largely new to it. I can't help but feel so behind, and I regret trying to expand my practice.

Today a client asked a question. I drafted a response. Partner sent a different response and told me it wasn't the right angle. It feels like bad feedback for someone of my class year.

I don't any other associates that I'm feeling this way, so I haven't really asked if this is normal growing pains or if I should really be worried. Would love any thoughts and to know what kind of feedback others are getting.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Finds

So far I've purchased the Nuna Pipa Aire RX and the Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair. Got some cute fall clothes for my toddler, too. I'm curious about other good deals!

20 weeks with Extreme Fatigue

I'm expecting my second child. In my first pregnancy, I got an energy boost in the second trimester and felt pretty good. But this time, my fatigue and low energy are getting worse and worse. My husband even says sometimes I seem delirious.

I messaged my doctor about it, and she had me come in for labs to test for anemia and thyroid issues. My labs were completely normal. She isn't going to explore it further, but something just doesn't feel right.

I guess I'm looking for reassurance that some pregnancies are just like this. I know several other pregnant women who aren't experiencing this, so I feel like an outlier. Or if you have other thoughts about what it could be, I'm all ears.

Feel like I embarrassed myself.

I think I embarrassed myself in front of a client. I'm socially awkward. I also ruminate. It seemed fine in the moment, but now it feels terrible. Please share your embarrassing stories so I feel better.

Toddler Snack Fiasco

I recently attended a play date with my toddler and several other toddlers, all aged 15-16 months. One mom handed out small puff snacks. My son ate his, and then another one of the kids handed hers to him. He took it and started eating it. I apologized, and the mom told me not to worry about since her daughter wasn't interested. A few minutes later, when it was 3/4 gone, her daughter reached for it and my son pulled away. The mom asked if the daughter could have it back. Given the exchange a few minutes before, I apologized again but wasn't willing to take food away from my son. I brought snacks, too, that I shared with everyone. But I can't stop thinking about this and wondering if I did the wrong thing. Thoughts?
