I built something that turns your photos + the little moments into a letter to your kid — and you keep it, it's not locked behind my site

Most of what I know about my own childhood is secondhand — a story my mom retold, a caption under an old photo. I wanted a way to capture what my kid is like right now, in my own words, before I forget the specifics.

So I built Dear Little Me. You add a photo and a few memories — a milestone, the funny thing they said, how they are today — and it helps you turn them into a heartfelt letter. It's not "AI writes your letter" — it's a draft you react to and rewrite in your own voice, so you're not staring at a blank page you never fill.

Two things I did deliberately after early feedback: you own the letter immediately (copy or email it to yourself — it's not held hostage by whether my site survives), and there's no "we'll deliver it in 18 years" promise. Keeping it is the point; the optional time-capsule (seal it to arrive on a date you choose) is just a bonus.

Built with Expo/React Native Web + Vercel + Supabase, solo.

Would love feedback on the flow — especially the compose step and whether the letters actually feel personal (or too generic).

I built a way for parents to write a letter to their kid today that gets delivered on their 18th birthday

Most of what I know about my own childhood came secondhand — a story my mom retold, a caption under an old photo. I wanted a way to capture what a parent is actually thinking/feeling about their kid right now, in their own words, sealed until the kid is old enough to really read it.

***Dear Little Me***: You write the letter (AI helps if you're staring at a blank page), it gets sealed as a digital time capsule, delivered by email on their 18th birthday.

Built with Expo/React Native Web + Supabase + a Vercel backend, solo so far.

What I'd love feedback on: does the "sealed until 18" mechanic feel too far off to be compelling, or would you want shorter delivery options too (1 year, 5 years)?

Software Engineer seeking tech mentor

I’m a 34 year old male software engineer with 10+ years of experience, currently working at a staff backend engineer, and I’m trying to grow further in distributed systems, system design, technical leadership and good career growth.

I’m mainly looking for guidance, honest feedback, and direction. Even 30 minutes every other week or monthly would be very helpful.

I’d love to connect with someone experienced as a staff engineer, engineering manager, principle engineer, director or someone from a strong engineering or management background.

Uber Team Matching Wait ??

Hi,

I originally interviewed for L5B and received feedback that I’m a better fit for L5A. The recruiter verbally confirmed that I will receive an offer for L5A, but I need to find a team since the current org/team doesn’t have an L5A opening. I’m currently in the team-matching phase.
How long can team matching typically take? I have other offers from startups that are pushing me to respond soon.
