I just sold my 45-150mm kit lense.
It was bundled with my GX85 from Adorama back when this platform was affordable. I think I've had it for five years, and I feel oddly emotional about that lens and all the mediocre bird photos I took with it. Carry on, little buddy. [checks email receipt] SIX years of photos. I like this Olympus 300mm, but it is not a casual lens. So hefty.
What happened to "create a new slide"?
I used to be able to hit the little + button, then select a blank slide format. Now it just creates a slide with two side-by-side text boxes. And there's a stupid AI button next to that. Quit forcing me to use AI
SDS is hosting a protest against the TPUSA event
September 10, 6:15 pm at the UCCU events center. They also have de-escalation training. Honestly, this is a brave move on their part, because I don't know if TPUSA actually believes in free speech. Good luck.
What wattage charger does the FM1 like?
I can't find anything about this. Is a 45 watt charger going to burn it up? Does it have real USB-C and can it adjust to different wattages? thanks. I am in the United States.
My ebook reader said I was at 86% then BAM the book was over.
I guess the ebook algorithm was taking into account the 100 pages of footnotes. I liked the book a lot. It took me five months to read, just reading 20 minutes or so at night before falling asleep. I took off a few weeks when I was traveling. I'm going to reread the last few chapters because I was a little groggy. I'm ok with the lack of resolution, but I'm a little murky on what happened to Joelle and Orin. They were both tortured by the wheelchair terrorists, right? The Orin torture scene is a nice little shout out to the ending of 1984. I kind of want to read it again, but more carefully. That is all. I think Gravity's Rainbow will be my next book.
What is your BYOK workflow?
I'm just curious about how you are using the device before I pull the trigger. Searching for "byok review" brings up people who wanted a word processor and were disappointed. I understand this is a text-production tool and not a device for revising. Thanks
p.s. what tall device holder are you using, if any? I am kind of tall and like to have stuff at eye level.
Did anyone go to Swiss Days in Midway (near Heber?)
We were going to go around 3pm and police had blocked the exits to Midway, I saw lots of cars lined up, leaving. What's the deal? Is it any fun? We drove through Park City to SLC and went to Afro Days at library square and had some good food from Swahili and Haiti food trucks.
Thoughts on trikes
someone is selling a Catrike expedition for $900 near me. I've been thinking about getting a trike for a long time, primarily because I can gear it and crawl up any hill without falling over. I currently ride a BikeE that works great. But that Catrike is tempting. I am not sure if switching to the Catrike is going to be a life-changing transformation or not. That is all.
EDIT: how do you like a trike vs. a two-wheel recumbent?
40 percent mechanical keyboard recommendations?
Just wondering if anyone is using a 40 percent mechanical keyboard with their BYOK. I am looking for something that is ready to use, not so much a kit. It can be wired or bluetooth--thanks for your recommendations!
You can check out these anxiety tools for free from the wellness center sl211
anecdotally, people love these. I have been freaking out about an aging parent and this helped break the panic cycle. the office lady said they were hugely popular but checkouts have slowed. Google bilateral stimulation
A proud legacy left for future generations
As I slowly approach retirement, I can say that I have left the following permanent monuments behind for future generations:
- Ordered a rotary paper cutter for the break room
- Was responsible for the new office rotation policy addition: "Faculty with wall-sized window offices are not allowed to move to another wall-sized window office just because 'they would rather look at the mountains than see students scurrying to class in the quad'"
- The sidewalk outside our building now has curb cuts for wheelchairs at the crosswalk to the parking lot across college drive. Apparently, someone anonymously contacted the federal accessibility office. Conveniently, I no longer have to dismount my electric scooter when driving home
- I've hidden Easter eggs in the first year writing course shell that nobody will discover for years.
These responses have almost moved me to tears, especially the small, secret repairs. We are all Harry Tuttle.
That’s the kind of legacy that actually matters small improvements that make life easier for the people who come after you are often more meaningful than anything with your name on it.
What did your ward or branch do for fifth Sunday this month?
I just love hearing the variety of ways that wards do stuff. We had a lesson on being prepared and reverent for sacrament meeting, taking it seriously, and getting ready for the new Sunday school schedule.
UVU's home page video is pretty great.
Kudos to whoever made this.
Is it worth it to sit through the pitch?
Wyndham vacations just offered me four nights at a hotel in San Diego for $80 a night, a $149 master card, and supposedly a free cruise if I sit through a two hour presentation. I want to visit San Diego anyway, but when they said "you have to respond to this right now" I got nervous and bailed. Was I getting scammed?
We bought these 10" shallow salad bowls but I can't fine a corelle version
We bought these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D1C4QJKJ but they are kind of heavy. Why can't Corelle make something like this? It makes me sad! They are 56 oz. 10" shallow salad/soup bowls.
We can't find anything with the really shallow lip, just regular bowls. I guess we are looking for plate-bowls but I don't know what that is called.
Is there still a free food Discord server for UVU?
There used to be one, but I've lost the invite.
