Hello all, i hope my connection is better than last time.

So the first time i tried playing EQ was with a terrible modem and a freebie disk. Really liked the idea of it but just kept dropping and dropping. Ended up trying to play from a net cafe in Halifax but it just felt wrong. Over the years id buy an expansion typicaly from Virgin Megagames in Leeds, play a bit but life got in the way. I know the last expansion i played was Planes of Power, im not sure if that was hard copy or not. When EQ launched the old school servers i was there so fast and then realised i dont hate myself this much anymore, it was so hard.

The other day i saw this EQ Legends thing and thought oooo that sounds fun, the more i read the more i wanted it. Ill be comming in with no memory of anything from the before times. I do hope that the game is as playable as im hoping and that there will be as much support info as there is for the other games :-)

Look forward to seeing you out there.

Please help im trying to stream my desktop to my tv using moonlight on the steam deck.

Hi all i do hope someone can help or at least offer some advice.

My desktop PC outputs to a 1440p monitor lets call it Display 1 I have managed to create a VDD which is 4k 60hz SDR Display 2. I have set up in sunlight when moonlight calls it it makes display 2 primary and that gets sent to the deck, via the dock into the 4k telly. Ive checked the properties and its receiving a 4k signal.

Im running moonlight from the steam decks desktop, not games mode. I run moonlight, it sees my pc and i click desktop and bang, tv shows desktop, fantastic.

Now the issue i have is that when i shut down moonlight, and the only way i seem to be able to close moonlight is by using the Ctrl Alt Shift Q command (i think) the one that forces it closed. However when i return to my desktop it still thinks display 2 should be primary.

How do i get it to revert to display 1 being primary? I almost used the setting that deactivates the other monitors aside from the VDD I'm glad i didn't or id be coming through to a black screen.

I appreciate that i can just tell the display setting on my pc to use display 1 as the primary. But I shouldn't have to. The other issue is that steam whatever is already open is on the screen in the other room, i cant seem to move them, even if I close the program when i reopen it it brings it up on the display it was on.

Im clearly missing something so if either someone could advise what I've done wrong, or how i can get this working in another way i would appreciate it.

Many thanks

Hello, and a question about travel chairs.

Hi there, im M49 from Yorkshire UK been hovering around 30 stone for years now. It all piled on when i had a mental health crisis after my dad passed. Ive been trying to find somewhere supportive for advice on good and services really for large people. But a lot of places, its just too judgemental. Anyway, i hope this place is different.

So onto the question. As i said im in the UK have been more or less housebound due to mental health for too long. I seem to be getting into a good place with that and was looking at places to go around the uk by train, however once i get there i need to sit quite regularly if i do any walking. I have looked at various portable chairs and well i wouldnt trust half of them with someone half my size. Could anyone recommend a travel chair for someone 30 1/2 stone, or more. Thanks.

Has the industry stopped assuming players will keep upgrading PCs?

I’ve been wondering recently whether game developers are starting to plan around the idea that consumer PC hardware may be hitting a practical ceiling, not just technologically, but economically.

A lot of discussion talks about Moore’s Law slowing down, but honestly I wonder if the bigger issue is that GPU and memory development now seems far more driven by enterprise/AI/datacenter markets than consumer gaming.

For years it felt like developers could assume that average gaming PCs would just keep getting dramatically better every few years, so eventually players would brute-force more ambitious graphics and simulation. But now GPUs are massively expensive, VRAM growth feels slower than I expected, power usage is getting crazy, and lots of people seem to be staying on older hardware longer.

Are studios starting to think differently because of this?

Like:

  • treating consoles as a longer-term hard baseline,
  • focusing more on optimisation/scalability,
  • avoiding systems that are extremely CPU-heavy,
  • or relying on DLSS/FSR/frame generation as part of the expected setup rather than optional extras?

Or do developers still broadly expect consumer hardware to continue advancing enough that this won’t really matter?

Interested especially in replies from people working in engines/rendering/technical design.

My own background is just as a user/gamer. Im just genuinely interested in what the future holds.
