Coriander and Sage: can I see your photos?

Looking for a new green sofa but need help deciding on the right shade!

Currently we have an IKEA Soderhamn that I customized with walnut legs and green velvet (very similar to Spruce in color, a darker green with a cool/almost blue tint). Not a fan of that cool tone.

We have really dark wood floors and plan to get a rug but I don’t want to buy a rug that clashes with the sofa.

Coriander’s tone is beautiful and I love that it sways a little brown-green while Sage is a true olive green I think? Let me see your greens! 🥬 🫒💚

Bringing cats for first annual check up… should I feed them breakfast?

Normally they split a can of food at this time but we have a vet appointment for a yearly wellness check in less than 2 hours. Vet is a less than 10 min drive.

If I don’t feed them before, they won’t have their first meal for another 4-5 hours.

They’re not due for any shots or vax today — should I feed them?

Pest Poop ID - rat or roach?

UPDATE: not poop but egg casings of a flying insect 🤢🫩🥴

Moved into the building one year ago (Spring) and faced a “minor” German roach attack that seemed to get under control with Advion gel, IGR discs, and Terro bait. Within 3-4 weeks I went from seeing a dozen babies a day to virtually none, no sightings and no signs of them in glue traps.

In the beginning of that journey—to determine the severity of the infestation—we put glue traps down and caught what I think was a mouse! Or a baby rat. I was disgusted but that was the first and only sighting.

Fast forward to this Spring, and we saw a couple more German roaches. Luckily I haven’t seen any in over a month, and with 2 cats / keeping the space clean I pray it stays that way.

Yesterday I noticed these by the floor in the kitchen while vacuuming. I stopped vacuuming to take photos and record. They seem too large and blunt to be mice droppings. They are about 1/2” long and dark brown. I think I saw one with a reddish tint that was closer to 3/4” long. Can someone help me figure out what terrifying little critter these popped out of? 😭

What kind of restaurant/bar is needed for South Slope?

Doing some market research as a longtime resident/neighbor who’s been hospitality my whole career. What kind of place would convince you to stay in the ‘hood versus venturing out or elsewhere to eat and drink? What are some of your favorite spots in ‘South’ Slope?

Personally, I’d love to see a natural wine bar with reasonable prices. I’d also love a concept that is not Italian or Italian American and that is elegant but not stuffy. Nice enough for a date night but easy enough that our kiddos would find something they like.

We really like Lonesome Club though that’s more WT area. But it’s the only restaurant within a couple miles that has high quality food and good service as well as ambience.
