Here’s the Monthly “We Need a Real Gym” Post

This would be such a fantastic market for a high end gym to push into new territory.

Equinox, Lifetime etc…

When NYSC closed it was a shame, but I was half hoping some bigger luxury gym would fill the space.

Now we have nothing but a shitty “24 hour” fitness with no A/C or Heating.

And a newer but teenage broccoli head overrun planet fitness that is extremely over crowded.

Here’s to hoping some exec at one of these established gyms sees this.

If you care to join me I’ve been unfruitfully emailing lifetime and equinox bi-weekly to express interest in them considering our neighborhood, lmao.

Jersey Mike’s Appreciation

I hope I’m not alone in my love of the Jersey Mikes in our area.

I know there are other sub shops but I find JM to be consistent and tasty.

Piece of Cake Moving Truck Parked on The Sidewalk 06/02 12:44PM

Of course 311 is useless.

Submitted a service request at 12:46, it’s closed at 12:53 saying that NYPD arrived and there was no violation visible…

When do we begin to hold people accountable for stunts like this?

I get it parking is impossible and people gotta move! But there’s other ways to do this!

Opportunity to Move up Big Time. I Think I’ve Gotta do What’s Best for Me!

Long story short…

My current role is GM/Server/Bartender at a local beloved bar.

I have a guest who comes in regularly and is the head bartender at an upscale restaurant.

I’m talking Support staff, steps of service, wine list and managers making $185,000 a year. The whole nine.

He approached me last time he was at my bar and told me they were opening up a new location. He’s looking for staff asked if I wanted to be part of the team. Overall, he told me he clears 2500 a week as a bartender and was looking to onboard me as one.

Granted he is not a manager, but I believe him when he says he has a lot of pull because he’s been working there for over six years.

The only issue is the opening date is not set in stone and I may have to leave my current job without notice. Add to the fact that it’s not a guarantee that I even get the job. I don’t plan on telling my bosses anything until it is set in stone and I have a job offer, but that could lead to me giving only a week or two of notice to a place that has been very very good to me over the last few years.

Wondering if anyone has been in the same position and whether it was worth it on the other side?

cheers everyone ! 🍻

FARE PAYERS STRIKE. WEDNESDAY JUNE 3RD

I’m seriously trying to organize a fare payers strike on this day.

I’ve told a lot of coworkers (whom all agree) to join me in not paying the fare on this day.

Let’s send a message to everyone regarding how WE feel as customers.

BULLSHIT penalties for no reason due to tickets “not being active”, not to mention how predatory that institution was in the first place.

Preposterous rule changes that make your ticket EXPIRE THE SAME DAY (we all miss that traditional 30 day).

We shouldn’t have to take it lying down, our dollars have power let’s show the MTA how we feel.

Please help spread the word. Thank you!!
