Does this look handwoven? They say (translation) its a velvet Turkish rug

I'm thinking about buying this but I'm not quite sure on the quality. The price is very low. I just think it looks cool but I would like to start acquiring more handmade things, handwoven rugs.

Should I ask them for more pictures?

Interest Check: Lossless file sharing? Or something else? What does the community need?

Hey all,

I am a software developer and I love high quality sound, I am an audiophile. And I was wondering if there was any need of any platform to help this community?

Does anything come to mind of what is actually helpful? So that you don't need to be so reliant on soundcloud of some other platform that isnt a good fit, but its all that you got?

Let me know what you guys need! We can brainstorm together

Thank you

Interest Check: Lossless file preview, sharing and sales? What does this community need

Would a platform like this be helpful?

I see so many people trying to make soundcloud or other links work, and the sound databases online don't 100% fit field recordings media integrity / quality parameters.

What do you guys think? I just want to see what does the community need?

'Tipped Out' - Thoughts on distributing tips towards the entire staff. Clearly a wage replacement.

Usually waiters will pool tips and share it among the kitchen, bus boy's, etc. Even the security team sometimes gets 'tipped out' at the end of the night.

They want to distribute it among the waitstaff / security team / chefs as a whole. Your tip of $6 to 'Caitlyn' your waitress, gets distributed to the entire team. It seems fair at first, until you think about it...

It replaces wages with customers money, tips. More money to the owner, and the entire waitstaff wages are supplemented with the tips paid to the staff, and distributed amongst them all.

This is a clear theft and a perversion of the:

> 'WOW, you did awesome and made my night special, here is a bonus that I am happy to give you",

to:

>"You spent $100 here, you should give us 20% ($20) extra so that I can distribute that among the waitstaff as a whole, which means more of the profit stays in my (the owner's) profit instead of staff wages".

Then it effects the staff member, it perverts their thoughts and they start to think to themselves:

>"My employer doesn't pay me much, but each night I make a lot of money in tips, so I am happy".

instead of thinking:

>"My employer doesn't pay me much, I should ask my employer, that I should get paid more because I work so hard and do great work".

Hello,

Instead of going to my local dispensary, I prefer to buy from (preferably) organic local growers.

I tried to spend some time to find some finding any, but have not had any real luck.

I figured the community could point me in the direction of some growers.

Thanks all

Hello all,

I'm looking for knowledge on my buy and to see what the community thinks about this purchase.

I paid $700 USD. I was told this was machine made, and hand knotted. I was told that it was thin, lower quality compared to some nicer rugs that they sold (due to it being thinner).

I was told that it was again real natural cotton and natural organic silk with artificial dyes.

It is 300cm x 400cm ( 9.84feet x 13 feet), $700 USD.

Can anyone tell me if this checks out please and if I got bamboozled or not?

Thanks all

Edit:

I performed a burn test, it smelt like burnt paper, so I think it is cotton as the dealer said. Im not sure how to locate or identify the silk

Hey all

I'm looking for my knowledge on my buy, and to see what the community thinks as I am still learning.

The seller told me that this rug is from Iran, that it is "hand tufted (knotted?)" but machine made, human assisted. He said that it is a cotton base and is a cotton / silk (or only silk idk) pile.

When you look at the rug in different angles it clearly changes color. They strongly insisted that it was authentic organic real silk. But idk.

It is a thick soft rug, it's not like a thin rug when you step on it. You feel softness and support when you stand on it, not the flat ground.

I paid $800 USD for it. It is 200x300cm (6.5ft x 9.84ft).

Can anyone please tell me this checks out and if it was a good buy?
