So I thought of a interesting idea of a fic where the MC had the powers of a far except toned down by the limits of a shard, so instead of warping reality by making deals they instead just complete it to the best of their abilities and gain a favor/a connection to their powers/skills.

I planned to include true names as well and make it work kinda like Teacher or Taylor, once you have the true name you can command them to do anything and they'll complete it to the best of their ability.

Except that invalidates deals entirely. Because why go through all the effort of a deal to gain a favor if Amelia Dallon's name is public knowledge? and now you can just command her to do everything instead of trying to gain favors from her.

I tried to write a rule set but that didn't help much either.

Rule:1 you must hear their true name from their own mouth to gain the ability to command them. Same goes for you although it's a lot easier to break the command on your side if the person is weaker than you.

Rule 2: you can strike deals with anyone and they we'll owe you a favor, the scale of the deal effects the scale of the favor.

Rule 3: As long as you hold a favor you have access to their power or if unpowered then access to their skills, the scale of the favor effects how much of their power/skills you can access. Fixing all the problems in Amy's life could give you permanent access to the full might of shaper, while giving her the coffee she asked for could let you heal one person per day.

Rule: 4 you can't lie but you are pretty good at wording things just the way you want to.

Rule 5: you can use up a favor to either empower another favor(taking a favor from Amy and using it to empower a favor from Taylor to temporarily heal/mutate through bugs), empower a person(this simply gives the power of the favor instead of combining powers), or make the owner of the favor complete whatever task you set them to (once again subject to how powerful the favor was, so the coffee favor could maybe force Amy to create a spider that makes super silk.

my only thought so far has been to make it so true names don't effect capes due to shard shenanigans but that kinda feels hand wavey.

edit:I decided to go with my original idea.

rule 6: You cannot effect the true name of a cape unless you have a particularly strong favor over them (something that would be worth trading their soul over) or they give it to you while knowing exactly what doing so entails.

So I have a premise for a fic where Taylor has her canon powers but a week after the hospital her bugs suddenly gain the ability to become intangible, so she is a power copier just that everything has to be tied back to her bugs somehow.

But I don't know how I do that with Tinkers and thinkers, my best guess so far is just limiting the actual ability to tinker to her bugs so she could copy Arms master's efficiency and then set her bugs to complete some piece of technology.

And as for Thinkers my best guess is that she does gain some of the ability but to use it to its full capability she needs her bugs to also focus on whatever it is she is using her powers on.

I'm trying to find fics where someone who can copy powers copys a bunch of tinkers to combine their specialties, either that or just something like Dragon where they can only copy technology

I've only seen this situation in a couple of fics and it usually involves eggs and Mpreg but I was just wondering if there was a tag or a word for when if the two don't fuck every couple of days the egg/eggs will die/dry out.

So I mostly read celestial fics and there have been a few perks that have made me think "the wording on this is really specific, probably because if it wasn't it would be a nightmare for people not meta aware of the story"

So I was just wondering if there actually are any perks that could/do lead to making them self aware.

Mainly I'm imagining some kinda perk/roll that allows you access the Internet from our earth and therefore in the hands of a in universe character would allow them to learn that they are a story. But please tell me if there are actually any perks/rolls that could do this

Mercury is a naturally occuring liquid metal that only becomes solid when it's colder than room temperature. It's also poisonous since it can seep into your pours.

I made this devil fruit a logia meaning they can turn into, manipulate, and produce mercury.

My question though is should they be allowed to control mercury gas?

Since mercury is liquid at room temperature it obviously has a pretty low boiling point, meaning that just standing in Alabasta would probably cause their mercury to evaporat into mercury gas, so do you think a logia should be able to control that gas or do you think that's too far away from their base element?

I decided to ask here because canon doesn't exactly have a lot of liquid logias, but considering the existence of ice and snow. Plus fire, heat, and magma my assumption would be that anything outside the base state of the element can't be controlled much or at all, meaning any mercury gas released is a complete loss.

But let me know if you guys think differently.

I was re reading This Bites and forgot how much I love their interpretation of Chopper, so now I'm in the mood for fics where chopper gets to be more than just the mascot but the Chopper centric tag on AO3 is kinda barren so I'm asking you guys for recommendations

[Building] |Uncommon Ability| You are able to perform transmutation on a macro scale, while you cannot build complex constructs or small applications you could turn the ground into a proper building in less than an hour. This ability does not move particularly fast, so its combat applications are limited.

Basically my only question is what does it mean by transmutation? Like is it being literal when it says I could turn the ground into say a concrete building. Or is this just really slow earth bending.

Because I assumed it was just earth bending but the word transmutation is tripping me up.

Also it doesn't mention any hard limits on what it can manipulate, like can I turn a tree into a building? Metal? What about something crazy like sea stone? Would this ability really allow me to manipulate that almost indestructible stone?

I'm basically talking about a power like the stand Super Fly from JJBA. It takes the form of an abandoned electrical transmission tower and the owner is stuck inside of it but as compensation he has complete control over everything inside as he was able to wrap enemies up with the wires or send metal bolts flying to block attacks.

And I was just wondering if anyone has written any fics where someone has ghost like abilities and they are forced to haunt one building. Or maybe after Taylor escapes the locker she finds that she has complete control over everything inside the school and she can even bring new objects in that can be assimilated into her power as well.

This is pretty specific I know but sadly there is no ben 10 fanfiction subreddit.

Anyways there was this fic on Spacebattles where it was classic ben 10 except he also had something like the chaos gacha but the cool part was that it was limited to his aliens and expanded upon their abilities.

edit: I found it, it was called ben 10 with the login system and I would still describe it as a mix between a gamer system and the chaos gacha because he gets rewards for achieving feats

Heat blast gained fire fist Ace's ability to control all fire, diamond head gained the fighting style specifically developed by his alien species, and four arms gained a whole bunch of strength enhancements.

There were other upgrades and expansions but I can't remember them off the top of my head.

Anyways I was just hoping to find more fics where someone did something similar, taking the 10 aliens and giving them upgrades and expansions to their abilities throughout the fic with the help of some ability like the gamer system, a celestial Grimoire, or a chaos gacha.

Just watched a video about edna mode and it started making me think about how cool it could be to have a MC making better costumes/outfits for everyone.

I'd love if the recommendation is anime related but I'll take any fic where the main character is a costume maker/armor/seamstress/hell even cybernetics

I just mainly want them to be really good at their job, like it's obvious that whatever they are making is the best of the best and is pushing the limits of what should be possible

Everytime someone learns healing jutsus in a fanfic the person teaching them makes sure to explain how if they use healing the wrong way it will cause the fish to explode or mutate.

And my immediate thought is how come no one has turned that into a fighting style?

I'm sure the answer is that it's too chakra intensive or that it's hard to do that on a active battle field when the enemy is prepared for it.

All things that make it sound like the perfect thing for someone like Naruto who has the chakra to waste and lacks the control needed to heal properly but could easily heal the wrong way to destroy their enemies.

I was thinking about the henge and how in the hands of someone with future knowledge or meta knowledge could do some really fun things with it.

Just imagine sukana suddenly appearing in a fight and starts throwing around wind blades or shouting domain expansion.

Sure everyone else thinks he's crazy but the SI is having too much fun to care.

They transform into white beard right before activating a earthquake jutsu.

They turn into piccolo to aura farm.

And even if they are just limited to Naruto they could turn into a adult version of any of the main cast, a mini version of all of the tailed beast, a perfect cosplay of any of the enemies.

And just think that could make for a pretty fun crack fic

The main thing I'm thinking about is Naruto using the henge to get around rude civilians/shops, combine it with the shadow clones and he could even pretend to be multiple people.

Just imagine him making a bunch of different personas to learn stuff like smithing, weapon arts, hell if he could manage it maybe even sneaking into a clan to learn clan specific stuff.

I remember one fic where Naruto failed the genin test and after that he started learning more forbidden techniques and then used the henge to learn even more throughout the village but I think I stopped reading it after Naruto basically replaced the anbu by himself.

Anyways so yeah I'm just looking for fics where Naruto is really good at the henge and/or impersonating people to learn stuff.

I'm looking for fics where Naruto has taken up some form of trade because no matter what it is I think it would be pretty funny when you add shadow clones.

A smith who can build 10 weapons in the time it takes someone else to build one.

A carpenter who can furbish an entire house or hell just build an entire house in a hour.

A repair man and with just one day Naruto's shitty apartment building has been transformed into a 5 star hotel.

And that's just with basic skills, god forbid someone combines the celestial forge with shadow clones lol

Also I'll just say this now since I'm sure it's the most popular, I'm fine with it being a seal master Naruto fic but I would like for it to not just focus on combat seals but also show off how seals could improve everyday life.

What I'm specifically talking about is fics where Naruto learns a technique that usually is impossible/very difficult with poor control by simply using or making a version that is more chakra intensive.

The most obvious example is the shadow clone jutsu, he can't use a normal clone due to his problem with control, so instead he just uses the most chakra intensive version of the clone jutsu.

I was just wondering if there are any fics that take this concept and run with it to make Naruto a genjutsu specialist that uses a genjutsu that is less about tricking the senses and more about forcefully pulling someone into a world he controls.

Or a healer that instead of using very delicate chakra just heals the entire body in one go or something.

Hell it doesn't even necessarily need to be a chakra control jutsu, why learn a bunch of d rank/c rank jutsu, when Naruto could instead focus on just learning more s rank ones that he really shouldn't have access to.

So I've recently been reading a hunterXhunter fic and it's reminded me how interesting Chrollo's book is.

So I was just wondering if there are any fics where Chrollo himself or someone with his ability ends up in a different universe and has to find a way to steal powers with those restrictions.

If a fic like that doesn't exist I'll also request just general power stealing but no My Hero Academia since I've already read many AFO stories.

I'm also ok with fics that take place in hunterXhunter itself as long as a big focus is the power stealing ability.
