we posted 4,228 tiktoks for our couples app with $0 in ads and got 53M views. here's the entire hook data, including the flops👇🏽

built flamme, an ai couples app. no paid budget, D30 retention was 0.8% at launch, so more installs alone wasn't going to fix anything

what we did over 7 months (jul 2025 to jan 2026):

  • 9 audience angles, each a couple in a specific moment (long distance, ran out of things to say, married with kids and lost the spark...)
  • 34 hooks written as bets against those angles
  • every hook got a small test batch, then a verdict: kill, mutate, or scale
  • 19 creators, 4,228 videos, cross-posted to tiktok, instagram and facebook

what happened:

  • 8 of 34 hooks drove 85%+ of the 53M views. we couldn't have picked them upfront
  • best hook: "asking my husband questions I've never asked in 6 years (his answers shocked me)" -> 10M views across 429 videos
  • worst kind of hook: anything that named the app. "flamme is the app that fixed our conversations" got ~260 views a video. problem-first hooks got ~23,000. about 90x
  • killed a whole angle (situationships): 102 videos, 0.2M views. people unsure they're a couple aren't shopping for a couples habit
  • monthly views went 0.4M (jul) -> 19.8M (dec)
  • 200K users, D30 went from 0.8% to 50%+, then arya acquired the app

3 things i'd tell any app founder trying organic:

  1. name the problem, never the product
  2. test cheap, scale only what's proven. the 8 winners averaged ~300 videos each
  3. judge hooks on who they bring in, not views. our winners sold the habit, so the people they pulled in wanted the habit

we now run this for other consumer apps (agniverse media), so yes i'm biased. happy to answer anything about the setup, account warming, creator briefs, whatever you need to succeed 🫡

multiple 1m view posts in < 15 days - my tiktok speedrun

I ran an experiment on titkok to scale ai ugc as a test, and it went fire 🔥 details below:

🔬Experiment ended when: our ai girl touched multiple 1m view goalposts

📝 Experiment details:
- experiment started: 27th of May on new account
- framework: locate winners -> dupe them with a specific ai creator (2 posts / day)
- time to first 10k view content: 8 days
- time to first 100k view content: 11 days
- time to first 1 million view content: 15 days

🤓 Learnings:

  1. Virality is harder to invent, much easier to improvise
  2. AI or real content, both can scale as long as the storyline is intact
  3. Drilling deep with winners > drilling wide
