Orbi 970 disable wifi7?

Hi,

Living in an environment where wifi7 has very poor signal penetration through multiple walls / closets and etc., is there a way to disable wifi7? Thanks.

Edit: As other mentioned, I believe my issue was not really due to wifi 7 but other factors. I just got the router (working as AP) behind Fios' router, which both wifi are running. Also my router's firmware was fairly old. It's also possible I didn't reboot the router after setting it to AP mode. I logged in web admin page, UI was hanging but wifi signal was high / Fios router reocgnizes the device.

  1. I disabled radio signals on Fios router.
  2. Updated Orbi 970 firmware to latest.
  3. Rebooted both Fios and Orbi 970 router + sattelite.
  4. Confirmed through Orbi web admin everything was working normally.
  5. Signal seems to be well now
  6. Now onto the stability test for next few weeks (fingers crossed)

Backup charger for G16 2025

Hi,

Just need to get a backup charger (doesn't care too much size / weight and what not). All the ones on Amazon seems 3rd party, are any of them reliable? Thanks.

Garmin 965 Occasional Battery Drain

Occasionally, during normal usage, no gps, not even linked to phone via bluetooth, battery drains very quickly within hours, and watch screen is off most of time (unless I raise my arm to look at it). I shut down and restart the watch, and battery seemed normal again. Is this a common issue? Firmware 27.09 currently. Thanks.

Great steakhouse in Orange County?

Hi,

Visiting Orange County for a couple weeks, can anyone suggest any good steak house around Orange County? (Willing to travel to LA. I would probably take a trip to Vegas, but schedule doesn't permit.). More old school style dry aged steak (please...no sauces..) like Peter Luger, Gallagher, Wolfgang, and etc.,. Ruth Chris and Morton's were okay probably 10 years ago, but I find their quality really took a nose dive (especially for the prices they are still charging). Focus on the food, less on the decor. I vaguely remember there was a Wolfgang steakhouse in LA, but seemed like no more. Thanks.

Edit: sorry, to add, for steak in restaurants, i will only get porterhouse. I will only have it medium rare closer to rare. (Unless a place i know well to do a good black and blue...very few places)

Windows 11 very performant Remote Desktop App?

Hi, Windows 11 home, are there very performant remote desktop apps for local network? (Perhaps I am spoiled by using Citrix with my work computers.) I am currently using Splashtop, hoping for better. I don't need it for video or audio, just smoother productivity type work for high resolution. Thanks.

2025 GTX 5080 LB => DP / HDMI => HDMI

Hi,

Windows 11, having tons of headache trying to get this working properly with Samsung G9 57" Pip. LB => DP is good, 120Hz. [Pip Right]. HDMI => HDMI [Pip Left] just can't seem to go above 60hz. Tried different cables. Reboot. Different HDMI ports in G9. Full screen non-Pip is fine. Also, right USBC just doesn't like this monitor (tried with another monitor seems fine). Another question, why does LB => DP need Intel iGPU enabled to work? Thanks.

2025 G16 right usb c => DP

Hi,

For Windows 11, Left usb C => DP (Galaxy G9 57"), works. (Left) Hdmi => Hdmi, works.

Right usb C => different USB C monitor, works. Right usb C => DisplayPort (Galaxy G9), does not work. I tried different cables, resetting, different power profiles, I just can't get right usb c => DisplayPort working. Monitor notices it's attached when DP is connected, but then can't get signal / goes to sleep. Anyone know of a working solution? Thanks.

Client decompilation / source logic

hi,

With AI making certain things much easier, is there any way to make it more difficult for end user to piece together the implementation through binary decompilation? In the past, the effort for most to do this is just not worth it; with AI, it's very likely that at least bits and pieces of the processes can be acquired without too much difficulty.

Thanks

D9-320 position and stacking

Hi, I have 2 d9-320. With 9 drives populated, they get pretty heavy. For stacking them one on top of the other, is it better to stack them vertically or horizontally? Thanks.

Fios router / extender restart?

Hi, I was on Spectrum and never had to restart their provisioned router (forgot which one was it). I am on Fios now, with CR1000B + E3200 (Ext), and there's another box in front of CR1000B that connects to actual line coming into my apartment. Network speed seemed to degrade over time (1GB, getting 800 (this is fine for me) up / 300 down now). Could it be just congestion / traffic in my apartment building? I'll power cycle the boxes later tonight. Is it normal to have to restart those boxes? Thanks.

▲ 2 r/VPN

Hi,

Under windows, my vpn app has a splittunnel feature. I want to allow internal network traffic (shared drive, remote desktop, and etc.,) to bypass VPN. Is there an easy way to do that? The app's splittunnel for exclusion allows for IP, can I put something like 192.168(?); would that work? Alternatively, I guess might be easier to list out all the apps which I want to use VPN. Thanks.

Hi,

(new to VPN in general). Ideally, I want to enable VPN on a computer for everything except intranet traffic. For Split Tunneling, how do I exclude all intranet traffic from VPN? Can I just have an IP (maybe 192.168?) as part of the Excluded IP address? Thanks.
