Are rotten egg farts always caused pathogenic bacteria?

I just started my 2 year old on a low dose kestose (a prebiotic) in an attempt to increase his bifidobacteria and reduce constipation. He is having WICKED rotten egg smelling gas. Is this normal when starting new prebiotics or it is a sign that we are feeding the sulfur causing bacteria?

How do you know when you are replete with iodine?

I have been taking about 1mg of iodine daily for years now, but just started on Lugols a month ago. I seem to have been able to start at 5 drops 2% without any major detox symptoms. It seems like my energy is improving but I'm doing a lot of other things at the same time so it's hard to tell. How do I know if I'm making progress? Do I keep increasing? How does one know when you are "done" saturating the tissue with iodine and you can drop down to a lower dose?

Is it weird to do black melamine drawer boxes?

I'm struggling to decide what material we want to make our drawer boxes out of. Almost all the examples I see are light colored wood, or white melamine. Our kitchen will have dark guanacaste cabinet fronts (like a walnut color) and dark grey soapstone tile...seems like it would look weird to do a very light cabinet interior? Or am I overthinking this....

(Note: We don't want to do solid wood boxes because we live in an area with extremely high humidity so I worry about it warping and ruining our undermount slides.) Our options are waterproof melamine or plywood. They have dark wood-look melamine but it seems like it would clash next to the natural wood. What is typically done here?

My 4.5 year old daughter is really struggling with negativity and relating to others.

At preschool she struggles with making friends. She has two "good" friends at preschool who she mostly plays with, but even with them it seems like a lot of conflict. For example, she called her friend a stupid poop head the other day because "he said goodbye to her twice" and it was annoying.... The other kids she calls "the bad ones" and said the other day she wanted to stomp on the roof until they are all dead. When we see a new kid at our neighborhood pool she will loudly say "that kid is not my friend" and completely ignore them.

At home she is sometimes lovely, but largely she's super reactive against her 2 year old brother, always calling him a stupid baby. She's super demanding (like will scream WATER at us instead of asking nicely, despite constant reminders) and just generally grumpy and says everything is stupid.

We think the issue stems from social anxiety and not feeling safe around other kids, but I'm at a loss for how to help her. We are working with the school on this already but it doesn't seem to be helping at all. Is this normal? I see other kids her age who are super friendly and seem to be having fun and I really worry how her attitude is going to impact her as she gets older.

Someone just set up a Tachyon chamber in my neighborhood and I'm wondering if I should try it. Does anyone have any experience with this form of energy work?

Project and example photo are both in costa rica.

▲ 1 r/SIBO

My baby has had horrible gut issues since birth- mucus and blood in stool, food intolerances, severe gas pain. He's now almost 2 I suspect he has SIBO or IBS-C, or both. He has so much gas that it keeps him up most nights and he's developed serious nutrient deficiencies due to malabsorption, to the point that he requires b12 shots to prevent neuro issues. From the time he was on solids to 18 months he was effectively on carnivore diet (beef, goat milk, eggs, ghee, MCT), not by our choice but because the TINIEST bit of fruit was a trigger. Literally a piece of watermelon smaller than a pencil eraser caused him to scream in pain for 2 hours. He's also badly constipated if we don't actively manage it daily with magnesium hydroxide and occasional docusate sodium suppositories.

We've seen almost a dozen doctors at this point and most of them were completely useless. A few of his functional med practicioners have make good suggestions that have gotten him into a much better place in terms of his overall health. He seems completely healthy! Growing well and cognitively advanced. But his gut is still completely unbalanced and we haven't been able to add more than a handful of foods (bananas, goat, avocado, yogurt, zuchinni, potato and cherries). I know those aren't good for SIBO but we are limited how much we can further restrict his diet without having him continue on carnivore forever.

He's already doing dozen gut healing things
KVP peptide
Megasporebiotic
Ion gut support (fulvic/humic minerals)
DAO
Marshmallow root
high dose phosphadityl choline
Butyrate
Colostrum
IgG
Yogurt made with fancy bifido species
Plus a slew of vitamin and minerals to address nutrient deficiences.

I'm at a loss for how ot implement these SIBO protocols within the contstraints of a toddler. I am so stressed out feeding him every day. Does anyone have any advice about where to start with this?

I've been aware of the importance of iodine since becoming severely iodine deficient while breastfeeding my now 4.5 year old daughter. As a result I've been taking between 1 to 3mg of iodine for 4 years now which fixed a lot of issues . However, I just did this oligoscan that shows I'm still super low in iodine and high in fluoride. I know oligoscan is not completely reliable but I'm thinking this might be my sign to finally try the high dose protocol at 12to 25mg.

My only hesitation is that I am working intensely on repopulating my microbiome with bidifo species post COVID and I don't want to nuke everything with high dose lugol's. Does anyone have experience on what this does to the microbiome? Could I possibly achieve the same results with using it topically?
