My childhood HP Compaq PC runs again with Win7

This is my HP Compaq 6005 Pro SFF PC I got in fourth or fifth grade. My dad got this from a pile of junk PCs at his job and gave it to me. Around 2020-2021 I officially retired this machine for my current PC. It’s set up for a really long time just collecting dust and come to find out the hard drive was actually wiped so all of my bookmarks, apps, and every other piece of nostalgia is now a memory. However, I did get this thing out. Got some cables hooked it up to my main monitor(s) and installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 professional on it. In the pictures, you’ll also see a few videos YouTube videos I watched on this thing almost every day as a child but using the Supermium browser instead of Chrome. Let me tell y’all this thing is painfully SLOWER and louder than I remember it. I’m not sure if I just had more patience as a kid, or I just didn’t care, or if it genuinely got slower, but this thing is nothing short of SLOW and louder under load! Let me know if there’s anything else I can do with this machine besides attempting to install office 2010. Miss you Windows 7 😓. IMO this is light years better than Windows 11.

Specs:

CPU: AMD Phenom ii X2 B55 dual core CPU

GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4200

RAM: 10GB DDR3. 1600mhz??

Storage: OEM 500GB WD Blue HDD (yes the old school spinny spin spin hard drive. Don’t have an SSD rn)

OS: Windows 7 Professional SP1

Do you prefer modern Media Player or Legacy Windows

With Legacy Windows Media Player still lurking within Windows 11. Which player does the community prefer. Legacy or modernized version?? Personally I like the nostalgic feel of legacy but I feel like the modern one is a little more "user friendly." Lmk what you all think!

Does anybody wish the Versa kept going and not be dropped or even be brought back??

Of course, Sedans are sadly dying and this car was kinda slow at 129hp. But it was small compact and affordable and had decent fuel economy. Just curious if anyone wishes they kept it going or by some miracle even brought it or its concept back someday.

Combine RAM sticks? Used RAM? or find debloated Windows 11.

This RAM crisis got me screwed right now. My HPTC has 8GB of RAM DDR4-3200mhz paired with a Ryzen 3 4100. I'm getting ready to upgrade the CPU, mobo, and hopefully RAM. It's just used for video and music streaming, Zoom etc. But with FireFox open and YouTube usage can get up to 70%. At times this thing has hang ups and video pauses to buffer. Buttttt as we all know RAM prices are STUPID right now even with DDR4. I was thinking of just adding in another 8GB DDR4-3200 stick but I've heard red flags about combining two different manufacturers. How would yall feel about buying a used 1x16 or 2x8 stick used. There's some decent prices on used RAM (I know, used ram, but new is not even an option). Or would yall dodge all that and install something like Tiny11 or similar. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
